"Instagrammable place and food setup. Everything’s just IG-worthy. It was the perfect place for a mother-daughter date or small family meals. My daughters enjoyed how cute everything was, from the cage seating to the table centerpieces and the food. The food was amazingly tasting better than during my first visit. Plating was really fantastic. Carbonara was meaty and tasty. We also had Chicken Schnitzel and Monte Cristo. My husband didn’t like the Monte Cristo because of the cheese sauce which kinda tasted like cheese whiz pimiento. I didnt like the side coleslaw that came with it tho, but the sandwich was filling and to me it was okay. Oh, and the Fizzy Cherry was refreshing!...read more"

"I had almond amaretto before and it was damn good. The serving is really big. The gelato and everything they put in there is really good. The place is in an open area in shangrila but it's ok it's not too crowded. Good place to hang out if you have got ample of time."

"Yaku has been in the Podium from the start. Other restaurants there have closed but this yakitori specialty place has always found its niche in the Ortigas area.<br> The prices are very reasonable from the sashimi, sushi and yakitori plates to tempura and chicken teriyaki.<br> Recommended dishes are:<br> Yaku platter Php229 - can't make up your mind on what yakitori (Japanese sticks of BBQ) then get this mixed platter of gindara, pork belly, asparamaki, quail egg, okra and chicken with onion leeks.<br> Sashimi Mariawase - assorted sashimi at only Php319.<br> California Maki only for Php149.<br> Ebi Tempura - for only Php269, they have nicely battered shrimps.<br> <br> Yaku is cozy. Good for intimate dinners. Dark interiors that work well with some shots of house sake (Php179 per order good for 4 to 5 shots).<br> Parking at the Podium is easy even on weekends compared to Megamall. <br><br><a href="https://www.zomato.com/spoonback?u=http%3A%2F%2Fboodlebear.wordpress.com&amp;r=30133728&amp;to=3033855&amp;k=25a49a3f3f4a79ef706e868343784f74" target="_blank"><span class="left red-text">boodlebear.wordpress.com</span><span class="grey-text left ml5" data-icon="ŧ"></span></a>"

"Going Japanese on a budget!<br> <br> If you are craving for the common Japanese fare but don't have much moolah, Tok-yu is for you. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant within the Pioneer Center compound truly surprised me.&nbsp;<br> Food: I tasted their Seafood Ramen and it reaaaally hit the spot: it's got a little bit of everything: crab, fish, squid, clam. I've also had the ebi tempura, California maki, super mix salmon, and beef misono on my past visits -- they were good. Not WOW GOOD, just OKAY GOOD. They're not bad at all; I've definitely had better, but at those prices, I ain't complaining one bit! Prices are so low, that one time, there were 5 of us, and the bill was less than P1000.<br> <br> Ambiance: an air-conditioned eatery. Don't expect much. Nothing fancy about it at all.&nbsp;<br> <br> Service: On my first visit, I was there at 2:30PM. It was after the lunch hour, and way too early for the dinner rush. They were very attentive. My succeeding visits were a different story: it was always past 6PM, and each and every time, we had to wait for a table. I didn't expect at all judging from the restaurant's facade that this place is in demand. At this time though, they seem to be understaffed. We had to practically wave our hand in front of their faces to get attention.&nbsp;<br> <br> The crowd: I've seen all kinds of folks here. Most are people like me who frequent here in casual attire (I'm usually in flip flops and maong shorts - my typical pang-grocery attire in Pioneer Center) to low key but obviously affluent looking peeps who park their Mustang outside, their baroque south-sea pearls glinting in the light.&nbsp;<br> <br> All in all, the taste and quality of the food, with the unbeatable prices, definitely make Tok-yu worth coming back to. It's a comfortable place to get your Japanese fix without worrying about the bill or thinking if your outfit is dressy enough."

"The food is affordable and the interior/exterior is appealing. Even if there is nothing special about the food, it is still worth a try! Me and my family eats here frequently. What made me give this restaurant a low rating was because I was surprised to see that about 2-4 waiters were sleeping (yes, they were lying down on the chairs) in the small private area and it was very unprofessional."

"Serving time is ok. Ordered mixed tempura (more like mixed veggies lol) but we enjoyed it I just think it's a litte pricy. The staff were attentive and the ambience is fine. I still think I would come back to bring new friends along #tempura #mixedtempura #tendonakimitsu #ayalamallsthe30th"

"My friends and I decided to dine here in Shakey's at Julia Vargas right after our shift. Since we wanted to try a proper food and stay away from convinient stores we found Shakey's and yes, now I am giving my review. <br> <br> I gave it an average, for an average experience. Knowing that this resto is a casual dining, i really did not felt that it was. Well, since we were not really able to choose the table we like, the server was pointing on one table while I was looking for a better place, nope he still insisted his suggested table. Second point, we were informed that the food will be out in 15 mins and we actually waited 30 mins. We ordered ultimate bunch of lunch by the way. <br> <br> ✖️salad<br> ✔️crab soup<br> ✔️pizza<br> ✔️spaghetti<br> ✔️mojos<br> ✔️garlic bread<br> ✔️chicken"

"I wasn't planning to buy there but it was one of the stalls that opened early. Since we still want to buy from other stalls we just got the following: Salmon Sashimi, Gyoza and Crazy California Maki. I wasn't able to try the gyoza but I'd definitely recommend the sashimi and maki. We weren't expecting that much since it's just a food stall but the salmon sashimi was really fresh. It's just 6 slices so it was 'bitin' but for 170php per serving, I wouldn't complain. The Crazy California Maki was also good - it's a bit crunchy. We all loved the topping (kani). And there are 8 pieces of maki per serving for 190php. So worth it."

"I absolutely loved Nommu when I tried it some time ago in Tomas Morato. I chose to eat here with my family cause I said it was good.<br> <br> I wasn't too happy with the food... I remember the sushis and makis being so much better in Tomas Morato. ???? There was A LOT of rice and it was too heavy. They seemed to have used normal rice too rather than Japanese rice. In terms of taste, it was nothing great too...<br> <br> We did like their Beef Teppan. ???? It was soft and well seasoned. Not too salty!"

"Japanese tonight and it was similar to a trip to the land of the rising sun. Kimono Ken did a superb job on making me feel the flavors of Japanese in three of their dishes. Sukiyaki at Php 350 was just excellent. It has been awhile since I had it and am reminded how special this concoction is. It started with their sweet savory soup base. I slurped it endlessly and poured it on my gohan. The noodles were thin yet firm and slippery. Its beef strips were tender, lean and really tasty. Since Chicken Teriyaki is one of my go to picks, I just had to indulge on their version. Flavor is deep on its meat. The chicken skin adds a nice touch of texture and a kick of saltier seasoning.
