"We went to The Pheasant today for lunch no reservation, just wandered in because it looked like a very interesting place. It was indeed! Vince behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. He made us feel right at home and we both enjoyed our lunch so much we returned for dinner the same evening. The Sea Bass, in particular, was done to perfection well balanced. The bread and butter pudding was also excellent. Highly recommended for flavour, speed of service and attention to detail. Next time we're in Salisbury, we will be back!"

"We stayed at the weekend in a hotel in the opposite and I wanted to book a nice country pub for my partner lunch. I found the white hard online and I am so glad that I did when we were really impressed by eating and service. the frying was delicious, my partner is veggie and he loved the camembert mushroom veggie option. the pub is beautiful and well presented, the personal was friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend family friends."

"Yesterday night here. room was nice, but it was too hot. Although we left the windows open all night, it was a bit loud when it was in front. in restaurant and eating was nice. service was brilliant, could not fail. the breakfast was just as good this morning. selection of pastries, pastries, toast, yogurt and cooked breakfast. I couldn't blame at all. will we have gone back?"

"I wanted to come here since it opened. I could finally see what it was about. steph informed me before he arrived that the brat was up. I knew there was nothing else I wanted, and there was no disappointment. the bark, which is cooked to our sweet, roasted and carrots, crispy and tasteful, roasted golden on the outside and fluffy inside, a monstrous yorkshire, which was buttery and crispy and a separate part of crispy filled flower charcoal. with a concentrated glass so delicious that I could drink! wait and travel to tidworth. I'm back!"

"We were very impressed with the menu and quality of food at the Rattlebone. We were staying just a short walk away so on our first night in the area we dropped in for a pint. The staff were very friendly and the beer was cold! During our chat we noticed a member of the kitchen staff take a plate out to someone sitting at the bar, and I made a comment about it looking like a Treacle Tart. It turns out it was the chef and he stopped to chat to us he was trying out a new Treacle Tart recipe and had just taken a slice to the manager on duty to get feedback. I told him that my wife's (seated with us) favourite dessert is Treacle Tart and that when we were married in Canada 24 years ago we had to have Treacle Tart on the menu. The chef Damien (from the south of France) rushed off to the kitchen to get us a piece of the tart to try (we did not ask for this he was just being hospitable). Our table of four all agreed it was the best we've ever had! He has lemon, lime and orange zest in the recipe so there was a lovely citrus note to what can often be a very sickly sweet dessert! This was a lovely interaction and although the kitchen wasn't open on this night we promised to be back later in our stay. Three nights later we stopped in for a proper dinner and were blown away by the quality, variety and freshness of the food. All four of us at our table agreed it was some of the best pub food we've ever had in the UK. I had the pork steak that was made from Iberico Pork and it was ridiculously similar to beef with lovely charring and fresh accompaniments. My wife had the risotto, my sister the cold pork salad and my brother in law had the pie on the special sheet all were excellent. What a treat it was to have such a wonderful culinary experience in the little village of Sherston."

"What a fantastic culinary experience! we often visited the restaurant in the past and we decided to come back to dinner Saturday and we were all blown away. the service was perfect from start to end with strong love to detail. the food was above our expectations, fresh, presentation, taste, temperature etc. were all top class. that halloumi it is a strange combination, but amazing taste, steak perfectly cooked with a lot of taste and the huh with nuts and seeds crust it was spectacular. unfortunately we only give 4 stars due to the lack of consistency. I think the cook has to train the staff more, eating is not the same every time. will definitely return and would highly recommend. Thank you."
