"Our default location for special events with mom. It's familiar and homey, the food is good and the service is friendly. The location is unassuming, in a strip mall in SW Calgary, but it's worth a visit. Try the chicken involtini."

"My brother and his wife came to Calgary and wanted to take us out for good Italian fare. I selected Abruzzo. My brother claims to be an expert on fine Italian dining.He was extremely impressed by the quality and tenderness of the veal in his Parmigiana dish. His wife loved her Cannelloni.I had Veal Marsala, which is not on the menu for some reason but they will prepare it for you if they have the needed ingredients in house. It was absolutely FANTASTIC!We all had a great evening and the food made it even better."

"Ordered the veal. First off the veal and pasta were excellent. But the details...not so much. Bread was stale. Wait staff apologetic, and indicated that is was Monday and therefore leftover from the weekend. He returned after heating it up which made it worse. Broccoli was over cooked and carrots under cooked. Like I said details. Not terrible.Would I return, not likely."

"Stopped in with four of my co-workers last night for some late night eats.Had the Veal Cannelloni, and it was fantastic! So good!!My co-workers crushed some pizza's and they couldn't say enough about how good it was.Super friendly staff and the food is always great!See you again soon!"

"My wife and I stopped here on a Sunday evening. We were promptly and politely seated and had a good look at their extensive menu. We had a Nicks Special pizza. It was very good with a fairly thin crust. Yes, we would go back, just not tomorrow."

"I attended a talk for Doctors at this restaurant. The event was catered by the restaurant for a drug company that was holding an educational event. Long story short the food was probably the worst food I have experienced in a restaurant in over a decade. The salad: 4 pieces of wilted romaine lettuce with spoiled edges and a couple of wedges of mushy roma tomato in a greasy and flavourless dressing The Veal Scallopini: thinly pounded slices of gristle that could not be chewed by anybody at our table, sitting in a thin and flavourless cream based sauce. Lots of napkins on the plates with chewed gristle. The Chicken with peppers: overcooked chicken with what tasted like a canned sauce that was watery and flavourless, but with mushy peppers. Pasta: Boxed catelli rigatoni with a flavourless canned red sauce on it. Pasta was overcooked. Nobody ate it. Penne Carbonara ....eggs were actually SCRAMBLED due to an apparent total ineptness of the cooking staff. Some slices of soggy pancetta inside that added nothing to flavour and nobody at the table could stomach more than a cautious taste of the vile presentation. The Tiramisu for dessert: Frozen! Also completely flavourless and based on cream cheese, so it had a slightly offensive sour flavour. Could not eat more than a small forkful to try it. Was crunchy with ice crystals throughout. Service: Attentive. They at least got the horrific food out from in front of us in record time. Serving staff didn 't seem to notice that nobody seemed to like the food. Portions: Completely inadequate. For 4 people at our table: Literally 4 small pieces of veal scallopini and 4 small pieces of chicken and very small servings of all the other items that were embarrassing in terms of presentation. Not exaggerating about the tiny salad portions. To be fair, some of the professionals seemed to know better and they asked to have their dishes customized . The restaurant seemed to bring THEM some dishes that looked pretty good. To be fair, to order food at this restaurant on the restaurant side may be a much better experience but on the banquet side where they host educational dinners and meetings for professionals I would not attend the even just because it was being held here. A bunch of us went to A&W after....their new burgers are EXCELLENT!"
