"Went for afternoon tea. £25 for two people. Poor start to the experience, we asked the girl serving us some basic questions about the menu and she couldn 't answer a single one, so she checked with another member of staff, this happened 4 times and eventually she gave up and sent over the other member of staff and we finally ordered. The afternoon tea consisted of 1 sandwich each (cut into 3 fingers) so only 1 flavour each (I had egg, my husband had salmon and cream cheese) hardly a selection of sandwiches as per the menu. 1 small cherry scone each with jam and cream (whipped not clotted) and 3 very small petit fours each. For £25 I would have expected a lot more food, perhaps a slice of cake (they had tonnes of homemade cakes on the counter which looked nice). Food was very basic, the egg mayo was just that, no cress etc. Salmon and cream cheese had very little filling. Cherry scone was bland and stodgy in the middle. Petit fours were small and nothing exciting. Overall for what we had I would have only paid around £10 £15 max. The man who eventually served us was a very pleasant guy, and he seemed a little embarrassed by our response to the lack of food, he did offer to get the chef to make us some additional sandwiches if needed. The place was very quite and I felt like the other guests were starring at us so I didn 't want to make a scene so rather than take him up on the offer we paid up and left. This was meant to be a special treat to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary, but instead we were left disappointed and hungry."

"We’ve been several times and have nothing but praise for them. The staff are lovely and we have never had an issue with them. Service is good and the ice cream is great and not over expensive."

"Called in today after nit visiting for quite a while. I had a cheese scone and cappuccino. The scone was one of the best I’ve had for a long time and I could actually taste the coffee in the cappuccino."

"We often stop here on our way south. It’s just over 100 miles from gone and the prices are more attuned to everyday life on the street Esther than motorway rip off joints. This was our first visit fir a very long time as we went to see my 91 yr old Mum for the first time in a year. The drive had been stressful with heavy rain, lots of inside overtakers, heavy lorries doing 70+ and a distinct lack of proper social distances behind. Tires out I went to order. Sanitise your hands was shouted at me even though I had done so on leaving the toilet. I went up with my £20 note go to the board and order there. ‘Please’ and ‘thank you’ had clearly formed no part of this 30+ year old’s education. I stated I did not like IT and also expected to pay in cash. I am but a simple 60+ year old front line urgent care doctor on a mere £100+ salary. Silence followed with a total indifference that was some of the most inappropriate behaviour I have ever seen from someone in customer ‘service’. I left hungry before I lost my temper a very rare occurrence for mr). Those who work in places like this have every right to br treated appropriately and with due respect. With this expectation comes the clear need to similarly treat the customer in a similar manner. This was could not care less officiousness. I sent my wife in . She was greeted with the same ‘sanitise your hands’ barked in a similarly objectionable manner. My wife placed her request in the manner prescribed by the regime. She found the endless attempts at upselling on the screen horrible. The request at the end to increase the amount to some charity of the restaurant’s choosing an unpleasant solicitation. If we want to give to charity we will, and pick the charity very carefully. It will not be one selected by dome large corporate giant that is for sure for the record I recently worked for a day with my pay going to the local food bank. The pandemic has been used as an excuse for all sorts of nasty managerial practices. Aggressive use of IT is one such sin as is the refusal of many businesses to accept good old cash. I never got as far as seeing whether this inappropriate change had been inflicted here. How about enduring all staff gave basic manners in an environment that promotes equality and diversity? Support those who struggle with IT, especially when littered with upselling obstacles. Accept many of us want to use good old cash,. I may have arrived in the wrong frame of mind in need of rest. I left fuming even after I had eaten my sandwich and no I don’t want a meal if I do I will ask for it."

"Adam made our afternoon tea extra special. The food was great, with a well thought out menu and Adam catered fantastically for a gluten free group member. A vintage theme ran throughout the afternoon tea, with specially chosen linen used, in keeping with a 1950's theme. The assorted open sandwiches had a variety of traditional and contemporary fillings and accompaniments, each flavour well thought out. The sweet selection was fantastic. Freshly baked scones, served with clotted cream and jam, biscuits, lemon drizzle cake, gluten free brownies; all perfectly baked. The selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and prosecco meant everyone was well catered for. Thanks Adam for all the effort you and your team put in to the afternoon. It was greatly appreciated. Xx"

"This is a hidden gem in the middle of Worksop. From when you walk through the arched walkway you feel like your in Italy. We visited as family for a birthday and all the meals were lovely. Recommend the lasagne. Well worth the money and would recommend a visit."

"On the A614 towards Blythe. Just off the A1. Large car park available. This has been a popular truck stop for many years now, and it used to be excellent, but sadly it’s gone downhill. The staff are quite abrupt and not that accommodating. There is a sign that says ‘No Swaps on the XSpecial Breakfast’ however they seem to apply that rule to everything. I ordered the FULL breakfast, but asked to swap the fried slice to a slice of toast. That was not possible and the options were ‘Take it, or leave it’. Tea and coffee are extra to the breakfast. I ordered a coffee which was awful. Poor instant coffee, but they obviously don’t want to add a full teaspoon of instant, when a half or less will do!! It was like dirty dishwater. The breakfast was not great. The fried potatoes were soaked in oil, the bacon was so hard and dry it was impossible to cut. The sausage was only recognisable by its shape. The egg was ok, but cold. I certainly wouldn’t recommend stopping here."
