"Looking for a butcher in downtown Gladbach, we saw a sign of the “Green Ladenstraße” and the companies based there. We did not notice this area or the road section. It is probably part of the large pedestrian zone from the bus station to the town hall and Maktplatz. Here we found interesting shops. The butcher hoped – among other things, the small ice salon “Cappuccino”. So we also tried a spaghetti ice cream there. Finally, we are still looking for the best ice cream in the city. Ambiente The outdoor area in front of the restaurant is not particularly large. Inside we also expected a certain constriction. In the small room there were also ten tables with four chairs apart from the counter. With full occupancy it must be quite adventurous to sit there or move. But the service worked very well. We were even offered a somewhat wider table and some chairs were pushed away so we could find space with a stroller and three adults. Cleanliness Everything worked well maintained. Also a tiny small area, but clean and tidy. Service The cartridge did the service itself. Behind the counter, a young man worked and executed the boss's orders. The owner was very friendly and cared for us; However, he was even more with his “first customer”. Oh, yes, there was no bill here, too. The boss reckoned with Italian numbers and called the sum in German. The map(s) On the table were three cards for ice, drinks and small dishes. The delicious food spaghetti ice cream (4.80 € A ball vanilla ice cream (1.00 € The vanilla ice cream had a pleasant cream. The sweetness was moderate and the typical aroma was also present; but probably no shares of Schote or Mark because no black coins were to be seen. Also the cream was loose and fluffy. The strawberry sauce also fits harmoniously with spaghetti ice. A prefabricated weapon in heart shape came back to decoration. Overall, this was the best ice we could find in the city centre. In the meantime we have found more ice salons at the end of the pedestrian zone over the marketplace and will certainly also take a sample there. We are brave of this task. Value for money The desired prices seem to be in Gladbach near ice. Conclusion 4 – happy again. After three ice cream cafes the number one. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – when it returns, 4 – happy again, 5 – definitely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 27.03.2018 – afternoon – four people. "The caffe kroppenberg has been there since my childhood. the "old bakery" allexi has lost nothing of charm in the decades. the quality of the bakers has even increased. we have been loyal customers for years and will continue to drink our coffee, eat the delicious cake and the Baguette special and order our traditional New Year's pulp. more so!!!"
