"Plants on Sturt – Giftware and CafeFor all who enjoy a nice coffee with a pleasant ambiance I would recommend Plants on Sturt (Sturt St.) in Mount Gambier.This shop has a constantly changing array of giftware, currently a couple of nice items are cut glass pictures by a local artist and laser metal work from QLD. All the food is cooked on the premises - try the Friands, ooo sooo yummy there’s savoury items as well for a light luncheon and the coffee is really nice my hubby likes to ask for a Janine Special -it has something to do with a hippy for its correct name which we keep forgetting. And for those of us who like a nice high thick old fashioned froth on the cappuccino, yes they can do that too in fact some days the girls try to outdo each other.The girls are lovely and always ready for a little banter.Eating can be had outside on the patio as well as inside, have a look at the photos we were in early before the rush started so managed to avoid the customers in the pics, hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We miss it when we go on holidays and constantly compare all others to it.Brian & Veronica"

"Arrived in Mt Gambier just around lunchtime in Covid19 South Australia. Some restrictions had just been lifted allowing cafes to re-open with limited diners. After trying a couple, Collars and Cuffs checked their numbers and “yes” we were able to be served. Taking an outside table, we ordered. The service was very friendly and efficient. We appreciated that the staff were being particular about the Covid19 restrictions. The meals were generous in size and obviously care taken with the end result being a most enjoyable meal. We were most impressed that we went back next morning for breakfast! For lunch we ordered – eggs and bacon with fried eggs and a warm chicken salad with along black and a mixed berry thickshake. The bacon smokey and several rashes with two fried eggs on toasted sourdough bread. The warm chicken salad was very flavoursome with a great balance with the mayonnaise and the other ingredients. For breakfast the next morning, we sat indoors and both had eggs and bacon with mine being scrambled and partner’s fried. A long black and flat white coffees ordered. Again, the same quality of service and friendliness. Both meals were reasonably costed. This café is well worth of praise for their service, quality of food and willingness to ensure that all Covid19 restrictions were adhered too! Return? When in Mt Gambier, Collars and Cuffs will be on our list at which to definitely dine."

"I came for a visit from the United States. My first visit to this place was amazing, I ordered a beef and mushroom pie. I was hooked. Second I had a sausage roll...hooked again. Last but not least, a cheese Kranski, another favorite. I made 5 trips to Mount Gambier after that and each time I made sure to eat from this place on more than a few occasions. The food is rich with flavor. I even tried to recreate this for myself the other day. I have to say I was not even close, however it did hold some wonderful memories of which I will never forget. Thank you Okay Pie shop for the wonderful food and experience. Your friend from the states :"
