"Okay, maybe not really Roman, but really good! Very popular, early there. We enjoyed our meals and the service was wonderful - although the poor server was alone and its feet run out. Recommended!"

"Service was good, but not the food. The fried calamari were inedible…like chewing on rubber. The marinara sauce was bland. They did serve nice warm bread with olive tapenade. Veal with mushrooms with white wine was okay. Chicken Florentino was bland. It was supposed to...be in a white wine sauce, but the sauce was bland and creamy."

"I found the best Italian Restaurant in an enchanting pueblo, San Miguel de Allende. It is called BACCO. As I reached a time in life after galavanting around the globe educating my palette all sorts of cuisines and the most comforting country cooking, I do...not frequent restaurants any longer. In San Miguel de Allende, nevertheless, my culinary curiosity peaked and lands me on a few treasures. The Lady Chef creates alchemy with her dishes. Her Pasta alla Bolognese is my favorite and never had anything like it anywhere or in Italy, where I have lived for many years. The Pizza Chef, holding court in front of his igloo shaped huge terra-cotta wood burning oven, creates the most delectable crocante focaccia I have ever seen and eaten in Italy. The timid Chef shared with me that this is his version of his Focaccia a la Mexicana. What a wonderful fusion. For me it's a delectable combination of two great cultures. This delicate paper thin, crackling and ecstatically pleasing focaccia gives an upper-crust allure to any meal served at Bacco. There is a young, tall waiter who greets us with a happy smile. He is always enthused to receive and serve you as a guest with the highest level of courtesy. This bright and happy spirited young fellow has also a contagious laugh. I must stress that all the staff at Bacco are most attentive, professional and so amiable. Exceptional service is a great marriage with the cuisine, comfort food with authentic flair of elegance. Beautiful setting... Handsome bar Romantic Terrazza Garden, so inviting and enchanting. Bacco is the soul of Hotel Sautto, a grand Mansion in the heart of San Miguel de Allende which represents the elegance of a certain time no longer, yet still welcomes with the spirit of La Grande Dame d'un temp perdue. This exquisite and charming restaurant goes so well with the centuries-old Grande Dame...Hotel Sautto. I have much more to say to entice the palette or enflame the hearts of any romantic. Delightful, sophisticated live music is also played to please other senses. As for the owner manager, Ricardo Sautto, he knows he has a gem in his hands. My hat to you Dr. J.Aarons"
