"Stepping into Piatto is akin to crossing the border into a modernized Italy. You're with a smile, as you glance to your left and right, realized you're surrounded by vintage mopeds. though high ceilings and an open concept conceal the aromatic nature of the pizza maker, when you do get a whiff of freshly cooked cheese, your mouth begins its journey towards excitement. Once you're seated, inevitably an Aperol spritz will reach your lips as they do in the motherland. Throughout my journeys in the country of Italy, I have enocuntered several Aperol Spritzs, and I have to say... this one... was aggressively mediocre. But for Canadian standards, on a sunny Sunday afternoon, it sufficed. Arancini. One word, three risotto and cheese stuffed balls, an ungodly amount of joy. The single best starter in Halifax belongs to Piatto and comes in the form of explosive, mouthwatering, marinara soaked bundles of happiness. If you come here and do no get these three balls, then you will go home having come up shy of your full potential as a human being. Pizza was aight, but wet lmao."
