"Starving, my husband and I were driving through central France on a Sunday early evening with no dinner plans. My research had unveiled the restaurant at Le Manoir de Contres in Contres France but it was not on our ‘drive by’ list. Suddenly, there is was since we had made a wrong turn. How happy our stomachs were soon to be as well as our comfort level as I remember my research. Yet the front entrance door would not open. A lovely lady approached from the side of the chateau and we began talking. She was the owner and closes her restaurant on Sunday yet with a happy voice and appreciation for finding her, led us on a path further south to find a lovely restaurant on the Seine River in Noyes France. What a beautiful chateau, what a kind and caring lady. When our next trip brings us to the Loire Valley, Manoir de Contres will be on our list to stay and dine."
