"2017 meal deal!!

When celebrating in groups, when in doubt, pizza is always an answer. And while you're at it, have two pasta platters (carbonara or spaghetti) and cone of fries (starter of choice), a basket of 10pc chicken and mojos, and some salad. If that's not enough, have a free super card as well! Two thin crust pizzas are in this deal too. Of course the drinks are covered by 2 pitchers of softdrinks. It's really a good group deal

They also give a free sundae to the birthday celebrant plus a lively song number.

Now I know what to order when it's my turn to treat my friends.

thegastronomersdiary.blogspot.com"

"My mother is partial to Filipino Cuisine so where else can you bring her and her passel of friends who share the same food leaning on her birthday? La Fiesta.

Parking was difficult. It was a Saturday and considering that the place is located in MOA it's to be expected, we just didn't expect it to be that difficult, unless you are willing to park 2 far blocks away, and walk to the resto, which we all did.

Undertrained Staff. The staff working the floor were busy converging in the cashier area gossiping and laughing at whatever they were talking about. I think they may have thought that, with the collective noise generated from all the diners, they will not be noticeable, unfortunately our table was just right next to the said area that the oldies found it irritating and grating on their nerves. It would have been fine if they were aware of the diners' needs, like in our case, (we needed 2 extra placings and tissues) but they were quite happily just ignored us. It was the busboy who was informed of our needs and got someone to act on it. The lady who was assigned in our area even got her head counts wrong, this was before the 2 extra visitors came. She insisted that we had 1 more head. My very young nephew said to her in a childish reasoning : " Miss you can always count the chairs to get your numbers right." Thankfully she saw her error, otherwise we would have called her manager.

They were supposed to sing happy birthday to my mother, they did eventually, but they freaked my mother out when these 6 staff were just standing around her for a good 5 minutes, before they finally started to tentatively sing (until they all joined in). It was almost painfully embarrassing, not to mention that it robbed my mother off the "surprise effect."

Utensils were not clean. Sanitation or hygiene is second nature to this kind of business. The fork prongs had this brownish hard stuff in between, the plates have excess water pooling at the center of each piled plates as we all went through the stack of plates. It was as if the plates came straight from the sink, and not bothered to be wiped dry or to drip, to think that we were the first batch of diners of the night.

The food choices were limited and not an all Filipino. In fact the dishes I liked that night were more part of a Chinese cuisine - the broccoli with seafood and egg white, spicy spareribs and the stuffed tofu. The rest were ok.

La Fiesta has mini cultural show and also has a singer to entertain the diners. I'm not sure if this is a nightly act, but we went on a Saturday and the show was there :)i"

"My wife and I came in and sat down and waited for a crew member to come up to us and ask what we would like to order. We've waited for 30 minutes, good or bad, of our lives and not a single service team bothered to ask us. I assume they have a policy of getting their attention first before acting on anything. So we got up and fucking went out and swore we'd never go back to this place. Speaking of poor customer service, this place gets the gold medal."

"I was looking for something unique and very up-to-date. A colleague invited me to the newly opened Tokyo Ice Cafe to try their version of Kakigori or Snow Cone. Although summer may be over, it is never too late to try this one and I guarantee you will love it, especially if you are a fan of desserts.

As in any other cafe, different drinks are served with hot or iced coffee (with fantastic latte art) and of course frappe, a must-have that you can pair with their equally delicious Japanese-style pancakes, cheesecakes and sandwiches
But there is more! The lunch platters, which I can really recommend because you can only get everything in one platter here. A nice selection of pasta, side dishes and a salad that are perfectly combined to satisfy your cravings.

The Tokyo Ice Cafe is located on the ground floor of the north wing of the SM Mall of Asia in the Entertainment Hall Galeon Wing.

Here is the MENU

Kakigori ★★★
Strawberry
Mango
Japanese Matcha
Blueberry Cream Cheese
Honey Lemon
Coffee

Frappe ★★★
Strawberry Frappe
Mango Frappe
Japanese Matcha Frappe
Latte Frappe
Mocha Frappe
Caramel Frappe

Hot coffee ★★★
Americano
Caffe Latte
Caffe Mocha
Capuccino
Caramel Machiatto

Iced coffee ★★★
Iced Americano
Iced Latte
Iced Mocha

Japanese style pancakes ★★★
Simple pancake
Banana Pancakes
Fruit Pancakes

Cake ★★★
Ningyo-Yaki Bear
Japanese Cheesecake

Sandwiches ★★★
Egg Sandwich
Karaage Sandwich
Katsu Sandwich
Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich
Napolitan Sandwich
Potato Salad Sandwich

Lunch plates ★★★
Napolitan Set
Carbonara Set
Genovese Set
Mentaiko cream set

Side dish: Karaage / Tonkatsu / Chicken Teriyaki / Sweet and Sour Pork
Salad: Macaroni / Potato

Pasta Ala Carte ★★★
Napolitan
Carbonara
Genovese
Mentaiko Cream
Asari Soup Spaghetti
Asari Soup Spaghetti with Mentaiko

After all, the place is really good if you just want to relax and chill, have fun and chat with friends and family, not to mention the toilet - it's like the coolest toilet I've ever seen for a cafe.

"
