So the children, third generation but already English, help in the business, speak English and Italian and one of them defends in Spanish the exquisite menu, both in pasta and in other options. the wine letter very wide, being the best Italians the select but relaxed atmosphere, incredible attention and prices for nothing high, taking into account the characteristics of the place and quality of the food service if we are in the southeast and want Italian food, for me the choice is clear, besides enjoying an excellent menun"

"Popped into Roma after a quick Google search as we wanted to grab a spot of lunch before going to the Sunderland Empire for Disney's Beauty and the Beast (amazing sow by the way, go see it). There was a brief wait as we entered,...as, although it was busy, there only appeared to be two waiting staff, however, we were quickly shown to a table. I think we arrived at the right time, as very soon all tables were taken. We scanned the menu, and staff came over to take our order. Between us we ordered potato skins, a meatball pizza, lasagne, and a Contadina risotto, along with some drinks. The drinks came quickly, and it was whilst having a sly peek at what other customers were having we realised that we made a mistake. The portions looked massive. Even the kids portions! Anyway, our food came fairly quickly, and, sure enough, portions were huge! I'm not even exaggerating. For the price that you're paying (all you were getting portions larger than you would expect. I've been to big name Italian places and gotten far less food for much more money. My nephew enjoyed the pizza, we all did. It was very tasty with a lovely tomato sauce base. The meatballs seemed to be handmade and made from a beef mince, I could be wrong, but they were lovely and moist. The lasagne, with came with a slice of rustic bread was an absolute treat. Huge in size, very cheesy, and filled with meat. Now, I'm a fan of risotto and this (which contained chunks of chicken) was very, very nice. Probably amongst the best I've ever had. The potato skins might as well be renamed jacket potatoes, as the majority were thick. They did not skimp on anything here! Staff, despite being busy, and only two of them waiting on tables, were brilliant. Nothing was too much bother for them, they were very polite and attentive. During the proceedings someone was celebrating their birthday and all the staff, even kitchen, came out to make some noise and to sing. The person celebrating absolutely loved it. The whole thing added to an awesome lunchtime, with great food, great company, and great staff. From now on, this is my go to place whenever I am in Sunderland, and certainly before any theatre shows, as I was full right up until night time! Oh, the price? Under for four meals, a starter, and several drinks. This is chump change for the brilliant quality of the food. Marvellous."

"We went to Antico for Christmas dinner it was perfect, such lovely and friendly staff, and the food was amazing! Large portions and absolutely delicious. The staff couldn't do enough to help and the restaurant itself is decorated beautifully! Thank you very much we will be back again! 5*"

"Food great..starters ..mussels with white wine were perfect..black pud and pepper sauce was great...perfect meat feast pizza..and pasta dish was great...nice atmosphere and staff fantastic....this was busy Saturday night for pre theatre meal ..only advice is book..(we did) they didn't have walk-in space when we were there...nice problem to have"

"This restaurant has now moved to the Dun Cow in Sunderland, there were 5 of us dining there 02/02/19. It did not bode well when we arrived to be told that they were not awRe of our booking, despite us having booked on-line and had...an acknowledgment from them, which we showed them. No apology was offered but a sort of grading, we will see what we can do. After waiting 20 mins we were led to a table recently vacated by other diners, cutlery not yet set out for all of us and hastily put together. We were then told they would not be able to take our order until 8pm. At 8:20 we were still waiting to be asked what we would like drink, never mind what food we would like. Another table of guests, who arrived after us, were served with drinks before we were even asked what we wanted. By this time we had all decided not to bother with a starter as we would be there ‘til midnight at that rate. We eventually gave our orders of both drinks and a main course each. In the mean time the other guests who arrived after us were being served their main course. When our meals arrived, mine was cold and undercooked (Pollo Diablo), one my friends ordered a chilli dish, it had no chillis. The other meals were okay. However the meals were supposed to be accompanied with veg, as the meals were being delivered the waitress informed us that they had run out of veg. She then plonked 2 dishes of over cooked chips onto the table and said is that okay. No, it is not okay, when you know that what has been ordered is not available, you should ask the guests if they wish to change their order. Also, no-one came to our table to ask if the meal was okay, I wonder why.....??? Seriously, when we came to pay the bill, the price of my meal was removed as I was unable to eat it, the waitress said if we go again to see her and she will “sort something out”. We will not be going again, you should have sorted this out the first time, very poor service, mediocre meals and shoddy treatment. Avoid this place."
