"We have been a number of times to Cap d 'Antibes Beach Hotel in Cap d 'Antibes, France. On July 11th we had dinner, the service was simply terrible and I cannot not write to you about because what we saw is not possible in a Relais Chateaux: we first ordered a bottle of Billecart Salmon Rose : they served us the campagne in a first glass in a miserable flute made of ordinary glass, to add to the insult the champagne was warm, like very warm! How can it is be? The wine and champagne are not stored in a cellar at controlled temperature? It took over twenty minutes to get the champagne a bit coller as the server put enormous amount of water and a few ice cubes until I asked to add ice! I asked twice the server and once the maître d 'hôtel to speak to the sommelier the maître d 'hôtel said for sure I will ask him to come see you as he needs it meaning he needs to hear this story from you well believe it or not the sommelier never came to speak to me unseen for us in any restaurant we have been and that supposedly carry a brand of significance how can this be? when finally the bread was brought over we realized there was no olive oil, no balsamic vinegar on the table so we asked for it, a few minutes after we also realized there was no salt and no pepper so we also had to ask for it, can you imagine! At that time the Maître d 'Hotel should have reacted and made a simple gesture of apology, no? Should I carry on? Well I will and please understand this is not just a one time bad service it is much more characteristic of a bad restaurant management. so next was our appetizers, the Vitello Tonnato did not look and taste like anything I had previously eaten this is one of my favorite cold Italian dish the veal was uncooked; the capers were absent; there was tomato, some kind of pesto and arugula on top how can this be? It was simply terrible! Worst ever I ever had! the second appetizer we ordered was supposedly squid and calamari in a pesto sauce of some kind with industrial croutons like we would buy in a 1€ bag at Carrefour! How can this be? Whatever management claims no way it was freshly cooked croutons. the main course of my wife, was ravioli with artichokes and seasonal truffles they say well my wife asked me to taste as she could not believe it the truffle were without any any taste and rubbery, how can this be? We think it was initially frozen, this is one trick restaurant are using to reduce cost and increase profit, how can R C do this? She found smoked pancetta in her plate that kills all the taste of ingredients, and creamy sauce that kills the artichokes was all this to hide more? last was my main course with a table setting that had all cutlery on the ride side (I have the photo to prove it)! How can this be? I ordered pasta frutti di mare the only thing from the sea I had in the dish was a bunch of small broken mussels and a couple of empty clams combined with a tomato sauce with a fishy taste, the only good thing was the pasta they were indeed al dente as I had asked. I had brought my wife to celebrate our second child and I do regret to have made this choice and to have been to this restaurant I swear I will try my best to never return even if it is a favorite of mine in previous years specially with my customers. To end that horrible experience I asked the bill, paid and left not even one word from the owner and the maître d 'hôtel who were too busy to speak to their friends and their habitués . Voilà ...."

"Marilyn and I enjoyed a late dinner on a Sunday night. Our choices were limited along the marina in Villeneuve Loubet since many restaurants were closed, San Marino was open and inviting. The service was excellent even with the restaurant being fairly busy. Marilyn had an over abundance of steamed mussels, and I had Linguini Gambas (shrimp), both excellent. We shared a 1/2 carafe of house red. Since the hour was late we passed on dessert even though the selection was interesting. We were glad to find San Marino open and enjoyed the meal and service. It's probably not a restaurant we'd choose unless we were specifically looking for Italian fare in France. If you're looking for very good Italian seafood in Villeneuve Loubet, San Marino would be an excellent choice."
