"Toscalia is located in the proximity of Puebla's colonial district. Specialty is Tuscan and Italian, in general. The bar is well stocked with lots of local beer (including artisan), wine, tequila and other liquor. For starters my friend and I shared the pear carpaccio, with fresh slices of salmon and prosciutto and greens. The menu has a good variety of meats pizza and pasta, including 2 versions of seafood linguini: the "healthy" version has shrimps, mussels and octopus in a light olive oil and white wine sauce; while the second version offers a red, Neapolitan sauce. Service is fast and effective, offered by people who not only smile but also know their job. Our waiter, Mundo, offered the day's wine recommendation to pair our pasta. I had an Argentinian Torrontes, rich and flavorful, while my friend had a more subtle Pinot Grigio. For dessert we shared a tiramisu - it was not the highlight of the night but it was fresh and big enough for two. The check was reasonable: about $35 per person (tip included) got us one appetizer, two drinks each, a main course each and a shared dessert.When in Puebla and tired of Mexican food, try Toscalia."
