"We had a wonderful dinner at Ego. The dining room is rather small and quiet. We had the warm goat cheese, the salmon tartar and the carpaccio as starters. For entrées we had the veal saltimbocca and the beef filet. Everything as very fresh and tasty. The wine list is very interesting. The 2012 Primitivo (Zinfandel) was specially good. Chocolate cakes as desserts were a great closure of our meal together with a glas of grappa on the house. The staff were very friendly and professional. A nice place in Cologne in a hip and trendy neighbourhood. The prices are average to high."

"As useless English tourists, our German was awful but the staff were very helpful and spoke to us in very good English and recommended dishes for us to eat as we don’t eat meat. They also explained German etiquette so we wouldn’t be caught out...for the rest of our trip. The food was delicious, would highly recommend"

"I just love the food and the athmosphere. Besides the great food with a menu that has different specialities at a different time of the year. Besides that there is good belgian beer. I suggest you try the Eckstein salad dont be foold, it...is not really a salad you get salad and a lot of meat. If you are on a diet you should order a small one"

"The aperitif hugo was unfortunately not sufficiently stirred for the oldest sirup. there were no saffron sauces in the salmon bowl. otherwise delicious food. salate with calf was very good. the operation could be a bit more attentive. very beautiful."

"I needed food, and they were open. But I will remember not to eat burgers in Germany again. They have filler or something. But the place was cute - did mostly takeout. They cook everything fresh when you order. They charged for all extras - including ketchup and mustard... Decent food in a pinch."
