"This was our dining out high point in Copenhagen! Costco has better Danish pastry than the mass produced offerings at local bakeries that are trucked in each morning and NOT prepared On site. Food in general was super expensive and disappointing. The happy exception was Sale e Pepe, which happened to be walking distance from our rental apartment. We ate inside early on a Saturday evening without a reservation at a cozy table near the bar. English menus are available. They have a 2 course special for 250ish DKK that suited us. For starters we had the mixed antipasto that was excellent, and a mixed salad that my husband raved about. For mains he had beef tenderloin and I chose penne with a gargonzola sauce. We also had a bottle of Merlot (least expensive offered but very good) and a complementary basket of bread. No room for dessert. The service was excellent and enthusiastic lots of smiles and checking to see if we needed anything else. Eating out in Denmark is markedly more expensive than most other places in Europe, but this excellent meal was 800 DKK including tip (107 EU)"

"We gathered for an evening meal which also tried to satisfy vegan preferences; the latter it turned out to be tricky. The meat lovers enjoyed the ribeye and the beef Tatar, but the vegans had to try with a couple of starters. The red-beat tarter was ok … too salty and the mayonnaise had little taste. The onion soup was tasty (fond likely not vegan). The service was soso and clearly lacked training. The meal was pricey,"
