"My daughters took me here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. There were 3 adults and two children, as soon as the lady serving saw the kids she was off. She made it very difficult about where to place the high chair and made my daughter feel very awkward. All other customers were offered a top up of coffee and tea but we had to ask, after repeatedly being ‘overlooked’. The food was amazing but we did not feel welcome and the service, most definitely was not friendly. Dogs are welcome but not children apparently."

"Really enjoyed our coffee and sandwich break in this lovely cafe great location right on the market square and super friendly service. Dog got good service too, we chose to sit outside but I think we could have taken him in. Delicious carrot cake not to be missed!!!"

"I love the station coffee house. It is a hidden gem and I hope everyone uses it. I love how it is also a little shop for the locals. The service is 100% from the lovely staff. I love the outdoor hut seating arrangement. I visited with my mum and dad. I had the lentil and bacon up with a bread roll and it was so thick, tasty and warming. My white hot chocolate with all the trimmings was a nice treat. I had room for a little tasty cake it was a spanish tarte thing and it was nice. I learnt that it was curry night in the evening aswell 430 till 730. Think they have a food night on every Wednesday? Anyway this is truly a hidden gem : I reccoemend a visit."

"We ordered a bacon butty with crispy bacon, a scone with jam and cream, and two teas... all of it was perfect! Staff were friendly too and keen to get everything just right for us. Highly recommended."

"Lunchtime Indian seemed a good idea after a good walk in the morning, rather tired surroundings but decided to give it a go since you cannot always judge the quality of the food by the surroundings, however I was quite wrong. The vegetarian platter was 2 x samosa’s and a load of onion bhajis, technically a mix but far below what you would typically expect. The salad accompanying it was obviously in mourning for the summer having passed and seemed about as depressed by the decor than we were. The mains came with all the flair of a wet flannel. Soggy rice masquerading as pilau, mains ok but tasted as if the gravy came out of a bottle. Wife liked her vegetables so some consolation. The naan seemed more like a paratha and certainly had never seen the inside of a tandoor. If you love Indian food, steer well clear, it does not taste like the chef does!"

"Sadly the tearoom does not seem as good as it was. There seemed a disconnect between the cakes on display and the actual cake served chocolate cake looked dark and rich but the slice served was lighter and the sponge was abit dry also the slice served did not seem as generous as those on display . The carrot cake was good. The Earl Grey tea was more like English breakfast tea dark brown with the feintest hint of Bergamot perhaps the previous pot had Earl Grey in it?! served with tired slices of lemon. Service was indifferent as if it was an inconvenience to arrive at 3 p.m yet the tearoom closes at 4! Perhaps the new staff need a bit more training as the regular staff are warm and welcoming. Such a shame really as the tearoom has always been such a treat after a pleasant walk through the wonderful grounds."

"The Drift is a lovely cafe plenty of seating inside and out and dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead and under the table both inside and out. My husband and I had hot drinks and a cake each I had a large slice of Victoria sponge and is was delicious and my husband had a Mars Bar rice crispie slice which he enjoyed very much! We will return!"
