"My wife and I enjoy going up to Erie a few times a year for short retirement getaways it 's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us and we have come to feel that Erie is almost like a second home. We typically have one high end dinner at the Cork, and a second somewhere different. On our most recent trip (earlier this month), and based on Yelp reviews, we decided to try the Local Eat and Pour which we learned was in the location formerly occupied by the restaurant called simply 1201. Well, we couldn 't have made a happier choice. The space is a little unusual in that it 's longer than it is wide. After looking at the seating options (the dining area was busy), we made another good choice by opting to eat at the bar. The owner, J.B., made us feel very welcome and the young man who was tending bar could not have been more friendly. We split a fried oyster appetizer that was a great indicator of how good our meals were going to be. My wife chose the seared Faroe Island salmon with creamed peas, bacon and sweet pickled peppers. I opted for the shrimp old fashioned yellow grits with white wine, lemon, garlic and herbs and we split an excellent Caesar salad. Sadly, we ended up with no room for dessert. Afterwards we agreed that in spite of all of the travel and eating out we 've done far and wide over many years we had never had better meals. The Local Eat and Pour will now be a regular for us when we 're in Erie. This is a place where the menu is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food is unsurpassed. I was disappointed that the bar was temporarily out of rye (their liquor license was brand new), but the bartender made me a top notch dry Manhattan as a consolation. If you 're in Erie and haven 't tried the Local Eat and Pour yet, do yourself a favor, make a reservation and get over there! Oh, and thanks J.B. for the recommendation to have breakfast at the Gem City Dinor. Another winner!"

"What a beautiful surprise! Your breakfast is absolutely amazing, they serve your standard fare like Scrambles and Omelets, but with striking touches like their homemade jams, Flatbreads (remove the Flatbread! and Desserts. A somewhat exotic turn, like the carrot jam with rose water and cardamom (I had to ask what was in it, creates a unique culinary experience. I've eaten three times and not disappointed yet. It always surprises me how many restaurants something simple mangle, such as scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. Not like Briggs Street. I usually steer everything I feel to make better at home (like eggs, but in this case her cook has hit me on taste and quality. I never knew something was as simple as a cheesestorm could taste so amazing. They also make some exotic/complicated dishes (Lebanese, I think I've heard are pretty good, but I never tried. The owner is very friendly and their prices are reasonable. Their location can be difficult to find (side street entrance with stairs down to their front door, and I hope they stay Erie is long overdue for a good meal."

"Placed a delivery order on a Sunday evening . Kids Fish Tacos meal was delicious. Chicken breast meal was a joke! Overcooked, tough dry chicken. No sauce included. "Loaded" baked potato arrived with NO topping, not even butter. Gave the chicken to my dog after sawing at it with a steak knife to even cut it. Called the manager the next morning and he was very responsive apologetic. Got my name address and fervently promised he apos;d put a gift card in the mail to me immediately. Three 1/2 weeks later: NO GIFT CARD. One star for the kids fish tacos. 2nd star because this app won apos;t allow me to give just one. 4 stars deducted for a pricey adult meal that was inedible lack of follow thru from the manager. I USED to be a regular customer there. No more. Ugh."

"Sometimes you happen on one of those places that surprise them completely. 24 karott bistro is one of these places. we had occurred without reservation errors and said we could not sit for 1.5 hours. were open at the bar, but the full service had, so we sat great there! . brady our barkeeper and jordan 2. barkeepers were excellent, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. they told us that 24 carrots bistro is a cocktail bar that they make many of their own ghosts, but they had an excellent selection of craft beers on tap as well. I had the swillin' boar, an amazing concoction of speck fat washed bourbon with other aromen. it threw me away! our appetizer was warm kale parmesan dip with homemade sweet potato chips excellent! for meals the ahi tuna was as good as I ever had. my companions had the ingwer garnel and bricks, both excellent. we shared an apfelgannet with caramel and sea salt jigsaw and vanilla bean ice. I have eaten everywhere on the world, but that was definitiw in my top 5! when they are in the area of Boulder/Denver/Colorado springs, it is worth driving the ride to the erie, co and to the 24 carrots up to the top!"
