"This place is a find...first great espresso. Great place to exchange a book that you may have finished while sun bathing on the beach. Great place to find a gift to bring to a friend family member or grand children. Lovely garden to sit and read and enjoy your coffee and perhaps a delicious pastry."

"We stumbled upon this little restaurant last November. We had breakfast one morning and while talking to the owners found out they did private dinners on the beach in front of their home. It was sort of impromptu because it was not a night that they usually did this but we were leaving the next day so they accommodated us. The setting was beautiful--candlelight and music. Everything we had from the pre dinner cocktails, special water served with dinner, the appetizers, main course, wine and dessert were outstanding. They even arranged for us to release turtles on the beach. It was quite a memorable evening worthy of the cost. We hope to arrange another dinner when we return in November this year."

"Even though by tradition the best day to visit this place is on Sunday, you can go any other day, these are by far the best gorditas in San Luis Potosi, they offer quesadillas and sopes as well. You can also order a fresh orange, carrot or mixed (orange and carrot) juice.The only con is that it's too crowded sometimes that it could take from 15-25 mins to serve."

"This is one of the original restaurants in San Pancho. In the early 80s there were only two beach restaurants, Las Palmas and Marco's, and La Chalupa tucked away on Mexico Street.Back then, it was the only restaurant that was open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To this day I have never seen it closed.Besides breakfast (fresh-squeezed orange juice!) and a daily lunch special (comida corrida), one can order freshly caught fish (delivered daily) prepared any way you like, chiles rellenos, fajitas, shrimp, ceviche, and caldos de pollo or res.They serve beer (and wine sometimes) but no liquor. However, you can always bring your own wine and they will supply the glasses and you may pay a voluntary corkage fee (at your discretion).The service is great and you can enjoy totopos and salsa while sipping your pre-meal beverage.When you visit, please take a moment to say hello to Doña Lupe, the matriarch and leading light who's warmth and sense of family this restaurant embodies.¡Buen provecho!"
