"It is a German tradition to eat goose at or around X-Mas and in this restaurant it is exceptionally cooked to perfection. The whole setting in the central room is very cozy and classy. (Book best 2-4 weeks in advance to reserve in the main...dining salon) You get twice served, first the goose breast and then the leg. Everything was wonderful, advisable to follow the Sommeliers proposals."

"In general, in the case of a visit with the known in the carnation, a visit in a brewhouse belongs to the “Pflicht”. gottseidank there are still beautiful locals in the city. And the “Päffgen” at the friesenplatz is quite high in the list. I just find the rooms cozy. lots of wood, a few pictures, bare tables, stable chairs. good if it is fully occupied in the night, then the noise level is too high for me. many free spaces the individual departments of the house, however, are divided in the round so that it does not seem monotonous or huge despite the size. on the afternoon there are usually few guests in the spot, then more people come slowly and in the evening it is often full. at least several long tables are “maintained”. in the first line, older people (as we and older, the averages) will be significantly smaller later. so also young semesters appreciate this house. it fills cleanliness everything works neatly well maintained. sanitary toilets are (perfect in the cellar – and the stages are quite steep. for that it is quite clean; for a “Klofrau” ensures the order. Today there was a Latin young woman with a bigger dog: there is more a small drink in the court. but this is of course not obligatory for the guests. the babes always offer full glasses. the animals are still listed on the cover and not kept in a computer. so one has a good overview – and at the end no surprise. the card(s as in almost any brewhouse there are also many dishes to eat here. the card is given to one; but of course they don't have to order. I am myself I never have anything in brewhouses; except sometimes mettbrötchen or halve hahn. but many guests order or go to the evening or to lunch. I'm just holding up a little bit more. there are other drinks. but why should I drink wein in a brewhouse? drink crumb – 0.2 l – 1.90 € we are brewed in the inner city. it is presented in neutral beams without advertising printing. it tastes malty and a slightly sweet is present. it also shows a good seasoning. from the middle in the finish, this mountain is also slightly bitter and by the light sweet it is very well balanced. the beer is only out of the barrel, so no bottle filling. as an old saying says: peeping always tastes different, but always good. Value for money for the city is still quite cheap. several competitors also take two or more euro for it. 5 – absolutely again. it's a big house, but I still find it cozy. caffeine at the dom or early at the dom are, for example, too large and for me therefore somewhat cold or unpleasant. next to the Päffgen-Stammhaus I also find the beerhaus am rhein and lommerzheim super. for other carrots, I visit the frightening chamber, the healthier in the wal, the malzmühle, em scheffge (reissdorf , em altertümche (gaffel or brewhouse stüsser (sion quite liked) (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it again returns, 4 – again happy, 5 – absolutely again – after “you”"

"Me and my partner ate here for dinner, we both got the schnitzel and it was amazing! Cooked perfectly and tasted I got a glass of wine and my boyfriend got a beer and our bill came to so was very good pricing!...Our waitress was lovely and spoke very good English. Overall a lovely restaurant and would recommend to anyone!"

"Wir waren 20 min nach Öffnung da und die Urige Eckkneipe platzte fast aus allen Nähten. Ich denke das spricht für sich. Wir ergattern noch 2 Sitzplätze und wurden prompt und nett bedient. Super Essen. Große Portionen. In der Zeit sind als mehr Gäste gekommen die der Wirt immer nett erklärt hat das er leider voll sei. Professioneller Umgang mit Kunden. Bei unseren nächsten Besuch in der Lanxess Arena werden wir bestimmt wieder vorbei schauen und vorher reservieren!"

"I love Sophia! My better half is not a quite greek resto goer, since they dont have a good image (ie. huge portion and low quality) in Germany. But since we found Sophia (and the Goldfish in Ehrenfeld) we have a new option to enjoy Greek dishes....Pricing is good not cheap at all but therefore a creative and good quality food. We only concentrate on ordering Mezze (greek Tapas). Reservation is highly recommended."

"Wir haben zu viert das Menü zu Kölner Lichter reserviert, da alles belegt war, könnte uns mitnichten ein Platz drinnen vorgemerkt werde, der Anlass war ein 40. Geburtstag.Da am Tag selbst ein Zisch draußen frei geworden ist, wurde dem Geburtstags-"Kind" gratuliert und dieser draußen angeboten.Die Bedienung war spitze, mit Pep, jedoch stets professionell und zuvorkommend, dabei nicht aufdringlich, eben so wie es sein sollte!Wir hatten einen super Abend, mit spitzen Essen, dazu wahlweise Wein oder sehr gutes Craft-Beer. Zum Schluss gab es dann noch ein super Feuerwerk zum Abschluss.Der Abend war nicht wirklich günstig, aber wenn man diese Qualität bekommt bezahlt man den Preis gerne.Wir werden wiederkommen und freuen uns dann auf richtiges Grichisches Essen.Beste Grüße aus Bonn"

"We were eating there few days ago while visiting the city. We ordered schnitzel that was served with warm potato and cucumber salad. The food tasted amazingly and was beautifully presented. I would die to have the recipe for the sause used in the salad . Very good experience."
