"Driving trip curtailed due to winds blowing trucks over caused my wife and I to seek pie. We stopped at this little Cafe late afternoon in hopes of a good pie. Boy were we surprised to find a rural gem for Italian food. One look...at the menu and I was all in. Especially after being isolated from covid 19 and face it, I'm tired of my own cooking. Health and tracing protocols were faithfully followed. The calamari was very good despite smaller pieces overcooked. The wine sauce was amazing and I literally sopped every drop up with garlic toast when I ran out of the ample calamari. The lasagna was excellent with a large portion letting my wife take half of her meal home. I however ran out of Chicken Parmigiana before I realized this huge perfectly cooked breast was not endless. Nothing to take home for me. Sooo good. The pasta served with it was perfectly cooked and the sauce was excellent. Forgot to ask what house red wine was but I enjoyed it with my meal. Desert was of course one of six home-made pies available. My wife had the Saskatoon pie and was very good. Crust slightly over baked but very tasty, she ate the whole thing and looked back at pastry case! In keeping with my Italian meal I had a cappuccino, huge, and a piece of tiramisu which I delighted in and was very good. We will be taking a trip to this little cafe again just for dinner. Highly recommended little gem right on highway 2 northbound for easy access. Owner is a wonderful and interesting man, passionate chef. Loved the antiques and Italian staples for sale. Nice atmosphere. Prices were medium high but worth what we had. Ranging from 25 to 34 dollars for a main course. Menu was nicely varied with beef, bison, veal, chicken, pasta, seafood and included burgers and pizza of course,. Daily specials were available at reasonable prices."
