"During our visits to Saarbrücken we have always happened to Aunt Maja. And the restaurant was always well visited. Especially in beautiful weather there is hardly any space on the St. Johann market. But somehow I was always sceptical. Why, anyway... no reason to be skeptical. For our visit at the end of March, together with my brother, very convincing cuisine and service. At later noon the slate board convinced with the current recommendations in the outdoor area. Recommendations on 29.03.18 It was unfortunately too cool to eat outside. Inside we were kindly greeted, but all tables were occupied. The lady in the vault said there were room upstairs. A step higher received us a young employee and we got a nice place on the window of the 16th. Century old and listed buildings. Upstairs amenities are friendly, bright and comfortable. The old ceiling beams testify to the age of the house. Our drinks were quickly picked up and served. 2 non-alcoholic wheat beer, 0.5 l € 3,90 1 Pils, 0.2 l – € 2,10 Our dishes we have chosen all three from the table: My husband and I the spring salad with Hakefilet and Knobidip € 11,80. And because the pommes looked so great on the side table, a serving of pommes € 2.50 was. My brother of sausage salad with roast potatoes € 9,20. After a pleasant waiting period, our food was transported with the food elevator. The young lady was very friendly and attentive. Generous portions, all plates with Aunt Maja logo. My brother was very happy with the well decorated sausage salad and also with the roast potatoes. Sausage Salad with roast potatoes Our deep and large salad plates were plentifully filled with fresh ingredients “over the garden”, among the leaf salads there were still plenty of raw food. The whole thing with a good and light dressing. Three Hakefilets, juicy roasted, were also generous. Salad with roasted hake fillet There was still fresh bread to the salad plate. The extra pommes were really great and here also the (although not homemade) garlic peel fits very well. The toilets on the upper floor were clean, but had many signs of use. Even ventilation, possibly due to the old house, is not optimal. Since my brother was never in Saarbrücken and we wanted to sneak a bit, we soon broke up after the meal. Aunt Maja (a picture hanging from her at the entrance) positively convinced us at our lunchtime rest. The founder and bronelloperator even made it a Wikipedia entry! You're welcome."

"Visits 31.05.2013 and 19.11.2013 The Diner moved from the Bahnhofstraße to Reichsstraße in early 2013. The restaurant, just 200m from the Central Station opposite the European Centre, has little external appeal, the more the interior surprises. If you enter the “Diner-Pizza and Pasta”, you will find the right to the kitchen area that can be seen for everyone, then the stylish operating counter dominates the front part of the restaurant. The well-maintained modern furniture in warm brown and orange tones radiates a pleasant atmosphere. The place was well visited. The two services are very friendly, attentive and fleeting. In addition to an optimally compiled menu with pizza, pasta, salads, fish and meat dishes, the “dinner” offers a varied daily menu. During my first visit I had salmon and Doradefilet from the grill with lobster sauce and rice at 8.90€. There was a lush side salad consisting of leaf salad, rocket, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes, delicious. The grilled fish was perfectly prepared, the sauce tasted pikantly. The well-deserved Chardonnay at 4,10€ also has a mouth. During my second visit I was quite disappointed. From the weekly card I chose the seed tongue fillets in lobster cream sauce and Tagliatelle for 9,50 €. Seezunge retains its strength and the typical discreetly spicy taste with proper tingling. The rolls that were served to me were fried to a very long time and thus completely soft and watery. The lobster cream sauce tasted a little fad. Even the noodles were not al dente and stick together like a lump. Only the preserved side salad, consisting of leaf salad, rocket, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes, was fresh, tasty and acceptable. Maybe the food was warmed up because I only had lunch at 2:30. But that's not an excuse. I'll try a pizza next time, because the pizzas at the neighboring table looked promising. Conclusion: Every visit is a snapshot and service and kitchen can differ more or less from the visit. So in this restaurant."
