"I’ve visited the plough many times recently and always enjoy my experience. Last night I took a close friend there for her birthday. The cost of living crisis is important to many currently; the prices at the plough for food and drinks are very reasonable and affordable. The one thing that stuck out for me last night was the friendliness of the staff. I’m glad I got their names. Tom and Adam are two of the most polite and helpful young men I’ve ever met. There are problems with supply in all industries currently and they were extremely professional and helpful when telling us about the limited menu currently. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I highly recommend the venue the staff are just fabulous!"

"Today visited with a local wemian, very good recommendation from her to go to the maypole. we had both eggs royale, the eggs were brought to perfection and the Hollandaise sauce was beautiful. it was served on a muffin with delicious salmon. we ordered some. twice boiled chips to share, also very good. we drink wisely we ordered a cappuccino and a pot tee. I asked for lean milk and some extra hot water with the tea, both were made happy. I have to say that the tee is a generous size anyway. the price was £21 for both of us and that was good for the quality of the food and drinks. so a shame that we don't have time for a piece of delicious looking cake. on the board there were specialties, including baked kartoffels and suppening options. the service was great and the loo clean. the best traces of us, we will return."

"We were guests of our Lyth Hill friends, so visited this pub for lunch in October. On arrival, a pint of Twisted Spire from Hobsons brewery went down beautifully. Then we had the ploughman's lunch that was staggeringly good! Two slabs of cheese, ham, pork pie, plenty bread butter and salad trimmings. Fabulous and accompanied perfectly with a 2nd pint of Twisted Spire. All at very modest prices. It was a very satisfying and enjoyable lunch in a busy bar and we were taken care of by a cheerful and very busy young bar lady. Hope to be back around Christmas."
