"We went there on a recommended from another cruise couple. Had beef fajitas and chicken quesadillas. We got seated at a table that had a lot of food on the floor under hubby’s seat and a lot of tiny ants on the table. Did not see the ants on the table at first. Only saw them on the floor by the food on the floor. They cleaned the food on the floor shortly after we got seated and pointed it out to them of the mess. We ordered our food and while waiting started noticing all the tiny ants scurrying on the table. I kept trying to kill them with a napkin. But just more and more showed up. Got our food and continued sitting there and killing ants as I was eating. Food was good but because of the ants and the final payment I rated it a 2. Then we got the bill which was $24. Had them add a $5 tip to our credit card. When we got home and saw the credit card statement it came up with a $10 tip. Because they convert the bill to Peso’s we were not sure what it should have been. Next time I guess paying cash would be better since we could pay in US currency and know what the total would be."

"We were taken here by the taxi in our cruise trip when we went on a port excursion. The beach is more like a logoon. The water is clear torquoise, no waves, and definitely fun to be in. However, the place itself is terrible. The toilet was flooded, and shower was dirty. Our kids wanted to eat something, so we ordered two items. After a long wait, they brought the wrong items and insisted that is what we had ordered. When refusing to accept the item, the staff, including the manager, insisted on making us pay for the items or call police. The attitude was very rude, service was pitiful. You are not in your country is what they had to say when asking logical questions about customer service. The nearby beaches are better, but I couldn 't vouch for the service. Please avoid if you can. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: MX$1–100"

"We came for the day to use the beach and facilities. We heard great things from the cruise concierge. When we asked the taxi to take us they said you needed reservations and pushed other locations, we kept firm on wanting to go to Nacional and glad we did. It was a 10 minute ride and minivan was $24. It is small and nice, staff were very accommodating, food was great and drinks kept flowing. Beach had nets so seaweed was not an issue. If in Costa Maya on a cruise and want a nice beach for the day you will not be disappointed! Evan is the owner and goes out of his way to make everyone happy. We asked for a cake and instead of saying no they said sure only for me to see someone from the staff walking down the street to go buy one!!"
