"The chilli scrambled eggs were amazing. The amount of chilli, the texture of the eggs, and the salmon were fabulous. And the brioche bun was so buttery! And the best part was that I didn't even need to season it because the taste was so well balanced. The picture doesn't do it justice."

"The waiter spoke very badly English and was difficult to understand. I told him three times that I wanted the boneless pork with black pepper spice sauce. Another waiter brought me my dinner, it was wrong, I sent it back, our original waiter came back... and called me a liar, said it didn't correct him when he repeated the order back. They took my dinner back, gave some cold plum sauce on it and served it again. It was cold and bland. The fried rice also lacked taste. Neither the waiter came back to our table. We had to ask for pickup boxes that they accused us. I suggest you find somewhere better to eat."

"I have eaten here many of times now and when I am in Mordialloc I go to no other place! I am neither vegan nor vegetarian but just love the healthy range of food and it is all delicious! This would be the only café...in the world where I walk out feeling great, not felling bloated or sick after eating a lot of fatty deep fried food! If you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant or just want a bit of change then don't go past Wild Yam. Wild Yam is known as the Yam to locals and is known for its great healthy vegan vegetarian food but also the best coffee in Mordialloc hands down! It has a warm friendly atmosphere and is a great meeting place for friends! When I visit I seem to always bump in the one of the regulars AFL great Rex Hunt. Wild Yam offers a great ranges of fresh salads, pies, wraps, curries, freshly made juices, ice cream amazing raw desserts! I would recommend getting a magic bowl' which is a mixed bowl made up of selections of your choice or you can leave it up to the talented enthusiastic girls behind the counter. They also sell health bars other packaged health foods. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to friends, do yourself a favour and give vegan a go! Wild Yam is located less than a 2 minute walk from Mordialloc train station. Recommended by bloggers Visit Victoria Outstanding 10/10"

"Called in for brunch on a visit to friends. The food is amazing and the staff are wonderful . Very nice to meet Mackenzie our waitress, a breath of fresh air . Definitely worth another visit before I leave !!"

"Love this place. It's always a little bit quieter than it's busier counterpart up the street. Food is quality, fast & huge! You do get your value for money. Pulled pork eggs benny for $13 had us sold. Good coffee and friendly staff. Bonus it's walking distance from our place & you can sit in the sun or inside if you prefer. We are Sunday regulars now."

"Wife loved the coffee and muffin, the bagels were great and she loved the chicken pie. Haven eaten a fair amount of gluten free foods before, she was very impressed by the texture and flavour. Really hard to believe the pastry was gluten free, reminds me of that add, "I can't believe its not butter." They sell a variety of cakes, muffins, calzone, pizza, beef or chicken pies, sausage rolls and they do birthday cakes. Oh, and there's bread loafs and bagels."

"Had lunch here today for the first time. Service is friendly and efficient. Younger staff members have better English. Partner had seafood combo with noodles which was good but boiling down the bottom. I had the beef teriyaki bento which was good although the beef...was very stringy, thin but large lumps so a little hard to chew. They also do a skin-off version of chicken teriyaki bento that I will try next time. One nice aspect of the bento is you can choose your favourite sushi roll to be included, and the raw salmon and avocado was very fresh. The atmosphere is very basic café with very limited seating and a couple of tables outside. e.g. there is one table stuck in the corner between the window and the coke machine where one person sits under a switchbox. There have obviously been problems with people getting up too fast as owners have stuck half a tennis ball over the corner of the box. For a Tuesday lunchtime this place was buzzing with activity. Value-wise we paid under $25 for 2 people and were both quite full and happy."
