"It looked fine until I had the first bite. As a person who have been eating tofu and beans for a whole life, I know exactly when the beans products has gone bad. You could literally tell by the stickiness of the texture, taste and smell. All those signs hit me so hard that I had to spitted out the tofu. It was so gross. I went to informed the person at the restaurant but they insisted that it was totally ok to eat. (They just looked at the tofu and not even try to examining it). Well, I have been cooking tofu with spices for year. I know how the tofu texture supposed to be like. I insisted that I don?t feel comfortable eating it so restaurant ended up offering to replace the tofu for me. At first, I thought they were going to give me a new bowl because the spoiled tofu already mixed with other stuffs in the bowl. Turned out that they just picked out the tofu and put other vegetables into the same bowl. How cheap, inconsiderate and poor service they are. Highly NOT RECOMMEND this place."

"Came here when I was in new haven. super fire place, Indian street food. I remember that they had pav bhaji and some other fermenters of Indian street food. can not really go wrong from the menu. the decor too. felt like a beautiful place with unique eating. coming here is also a cool walk. decide when they are in new haven"

"Thali 's food and atmosphere are a cut above the typical Indian restaurant, but the prices are a bit higher as well. We went for a pre-theater dinner on a Saturday night and were glad we got there at 5:45, beating the crowd. By 6:30 it was packed. We liked the minty Palak Pakora chat for an appetizer along with a spicy cauliflower dish. The Coconut Saag Lamb Curry was also very good. The service was attentive and prompt. It is in a trendy neighborhood and we found street parking easily, although there is a public garage next door as well. We like Heirloom the best but it is impossible to get a pre-theater table there on a Saturday night unless you plan ahead, something we are not very good at!"

"This is my favorite restaurant in CT. My wife and I almost cried when we heard that they were moving to New Haven. We drive about an hour (round trip) to get there, and we’ve probably spent thousands of dollars over the years. It’s worth every penny. Fresh, consistent, delicious food. They’ve also never messed up a takeout order one single time. Good luck at your new location, we’ll miss you!"

"I took my Florida grandchildren there and was immediately told that children get a free book the first time that they visit the store so my grandchildren had a great time each picking out one to buy and one to get free!
