"Malayan visits orchid twice last week during work in Bendigo. It was during the Elvis show at Art Gallery, so it was almost impossible to get a table somewhere in View Street. When I first came at 8.30, I could only get a table without booking. The (new? front of house manager was fantastic and very hospitable, how was Pam when I last visited Pre-Covid. Both food and beverage service has improved for several years, less fussy, faster, simple menu etc. The wine list offers some great drops like the Mandurang Merlot at just $8 a glass. Bress Chardonnay is also excellent and very "priced". Premium wines to 'house wine' prices, this for $12 have seen a glass not far from there. The beef-endang share was huge, a considerable amount of beef considering that this is reduced for many hours. Small fried rice small part also very generous. The staff was above all under pressure. Thanks to the young man who worked the front counter who called me when a table was available as I had a booking a few nights later. Delicious food. Bookings are probably essential for the next few months."

"I ordered the Eggs Lumberjack, with pancakes with maple syrup, two beautifully cooked eggs, lashings of bacon and a hash brown. Nearly had to roll me out the door but was all too good to leave a crumb. Fantastic cappuccino also. Great staff, great music and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended."

"Hoogah has been a long favourite eating place of mine, but since the edition of the outdoor eating I have been able to better enjoy the old architecture of Bendigo, with a view of Rosalind Park. The Alexander Fountain, and the old facades of the architecture from The Bendigo Gold rush era. The food and coffee are excellent,food that caters for a wide range of dietary requirements,great coffee, with a number of dairy free options, and above all excellent service where you can experience a truly meaningful connection with each of the staff rather than a simple exchange of currency for goods and services. Hoogah is a shining example of what it means to be a truly Hygee themed place in the Bendigo region"

"We popped in for lunch after catching a movie on a cold, wet Sunday. We chose Golden Flavours because of the menu variety something for everyone! Pizzas were a hit and the lunchtime curry special with rice and roti was amazing. The chai lattes..... DELICIOUS, so we had to order another before we left. The service was provided by the owner very friendly and attentive. We will absolutely be back to try the evening menu soon!!"

"For a family dinner we had all traveled from the interstate or other regional Victoria areas and had our older mothet with us. we arrived at 6.30 to 6.45 and ordered our meals and waited and waited. it took an hour to get the net out. 2 of our party had the broken cuts. the crumb coating was very dark brown and they were hard. the other party had hühnersnitz, which was in order. was also a flop, Rhabarb crumb had sold out. for lemon meringue, which is commercially produced and very averaged. the sticky date was okay. I would pass on this totro if we were looking for a meal in bendigo."
