"Delicious outdoor lunch during Restaurant Week! Plenty of heaters. Very attentive service staff. They were great with my gluten-free friend. The only issue was the water spilling off the side of the tent, but that didn't affect everyone sitting outside. Only the unlucky few near the edge! Highly recommended."

"Hiraya was so nice, we ate there twice.I had this Filipino restaurant on H St. bookmarked before we visited DC two weeks ago and then I found out that we were staying within walking distance of it--score! My husband and I walked over twice for breakfast here during our stay and both times we were the first seated customers of the day since we arrived soon after they opened. The decor definitely had the Filipino touch, complete with barrel men (IYKYK! .On our first visit, I had the Makulay Latte and the Ricotta Calamansi Toast, while my husband had the Longganisa Filipino breakfast. The latte is one of their well-known drinks with its rainbow colors and is described as an homage to birthday cake with yellow cake and brown butter flavors; it does taste like a party in your mouth, but not too sweet. The ricotta toast was definitely cheesy, but the calamansi-infused jam gave it a nice balance. I tasted my husband's breakfast, which is a traditional Filipino meal with garlic fried rice, longganisa, and a fried egg. He added two additional eggs to his meal for more protein. This was also a winner and if you've never had it, you should order it. Then we both shared the ube Basque cheesecake. Did we have room in our stomachs for this? Not really, but that didn't stop us. It was so good and it's another item you should definitely get if you have not experienced ube.On our second visit, I had the Turon latte with terrific banana and brown sugar flavors plus the Hiraya Granola bowl. The bowl is a very generous portion with candied walnuts, fresh fruit, and yogurt; I needed something on the healthier side this time after having eaten out for three days on vacation.Breakfast and lunch is served from 8am to 3pm and then dinner is from 5pm-9pm with a different menu. If you do want dinner, you need to make reservations. I thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Hiraya. As Filipinos, it's always nice to visit restaurants that serve the food we know and do it well."

"I dined here friend and really enjoyed the experience. The ambiance and service were both impeccable, with our table by the window having a lovely view of the water. Despite the nice weather, they weren 't seating people outside. In terms of drinks, I got the Damyang Sour, which was good, but it included milk foam on top which, was, just, whipped cream? Like, it literally looked like can whipped cream? Not even a fancy coffee foam? I was so thrown off, and this was the first thing I was brought, which didn 't make for a good start. It tasted great, but just felt... cheap? In terms of best items, I really loved the foi gras soft serve which arrived looking like adorable little ice cream cones and was super tasty, as well as the much-praised crawfish pasta (forgot to take a photo oops). Both were delicious and would recommend. The tuna and crawfish were both food as well. The only food disappointment was the beignets, which were... weird. They come with prosciutto, a duck fat dusting, and a coffee sauce. But the coffee sauce was so overpowering and bitter it was hard to taste any of the other flavors. I wanted the cornbread (which was listed online) but wasn 't on the in-person menu. We ordered two desserts--a yogurt mousse and a flan--both of which were delicious and unique. They both involved a lot of flavors and textures working well together. My understanding is that Moon Rabbit changes their menu often, so it 's hard to see this review as valuable in any way. For example, I know they switch up their foi gras presentation and desserts, so who knows what they could be next time! I think the crawfish pasta is a standard, though, and a must-get imo."

"A delicious and friendly breakfast and lunch place!I highly recommend the avocado toast with sausage added on—so good! I’ve gone here probably about a dozen times, and they are always very kind, and I’ve never had any issues with my order. My partner always gets a chorizo sandwich of some kind that is also very tasty from the few bites I’ve had of that.My only complaint is they don’t carry the orange juice version of the bottled Natalie’s products they offer as drink options, but it doesn’t stop me from going!"
