"This was our second visit to Pink Peppercorn and it was every bit as good as the first time. We had salmon wellington, prawns and scallops and a special halibut dish, all cooked to perfection and great tasting. The food is great, the portions large and the service is superb."

"Yesterday I met some of my friends for Dim Sum at “Sun Bo Kong”, a Chinese vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver near Kingsway and Knight Street. It was surprisingly very crowded. Despite we booked the table in advance we had to wait for about 15 minutes. We ordered Siu Mei, Crispy Bean Curd Skin Stuffed with Burdock, Steamed BBQ Bun, Deep Fried Taro Dumplings, Steamed Rice Flour Roll with Bean Curd Skin & Veggie Paste, Spicy Green Beans, Deep Fried Tofu with Golden Spice, Stir Fried Turnip Cake with XO Sauce and, as a dessert, Tapioca Pudding. When the bill came I realized that we had also to pay for the tea.First item that arrived after waiting for quite some time was the Spicy Green Beans. But they were not really spicy. The beans themselves were rather bland; just tiny dices of another ingredient gave the dish a bit spiciness, but only when eaten together. This indicates that this dish was mixed and cooked very quickly together. The next dish that was served was the Deep Fried Tofu with Golden Spice. I don’t know what for a “golden spice” it supposed to have been; this dish tasted as bland as common fried tofu with tasteless crumbs (even bread crumbs would have given more taste). When we requested some chilli sauce we received an extremely diluted chili oil that was rather mild than hot.Although they were one of the best items of that meal, the Stir Fried Turnip Cakes with XO Sauce were also disappointing,. The XO sauce was also not visible, and I was not able to taste that sauce. Luckily, the turnip cake itself had some taste by nature. The worst item was clearly the Deep Fried Taro Dumplings. While a friend described the taste as bland, another one called the taste grouse. I agree to that latter opinion. Usually, taro dishes have a distinct taste that I like. But that dish tasted rather like slightly rotten.Next in our meal was the Steamed BBQ Bun. Nothing in the taste of that item resembled to a BBQ bun. The closest in the taste was the taste of a red bean bun. Usually, inside the bun one could expect some texture of a BBQ item. But this bun contained only a kind of sweet paste. The Siu Mei looked a bit like Pâté; and it tasted also similar to that. It didn’t have any similarity of a real Siu Mei. Even the pseudo-shrimp dice on top was tasteless. After that it took quite a while until we got the next dish, which was the Steamed Rice Flour Roll with Bean Curd Skin & Veggie Paste. Also that tasted rather bland. Only the provided sauces gave the pieces a kind of reasonable taste; although initially we were not able to determine what sauces we got. When tasted the pure sauces we came to the conclusion that one of them was a very diluted sweet-sour or plum sauce (with a terribly pink color) and the other was most likely a kind of very diluted black-bean sauce. To our surprise the Tapioca Pudding was served next, showing clearly that they forgot to serve one of our main dishes. The Tapioca pudding was also not great: It was extremely sticky and was obviously seasoned with a large amount of vanilla flavour (I didn’t have any indication that they used real vanilla beans – the taste was different and I couldn’t find any vanilla seeds). It was not so much a joy to eat that sticky product. Good tapioca puddings are usually soft/creamy but not like a dense cake. When we made a server aware that an ordered item was missing, we received it relatively fast. But already the appearance of Crispy Bean Curd Skin Stuffed with Burdock let grow some worries: at some parts of the surface of the fried items was shiny from the apparent presence of pure cooking oil. The item itself, including its filling, was similar to a vegetarian spring roll. But it was extremely oily: While trying to cut some of the rolls into two pieces the oil started running out from everywhere – from the skin and from inside. In contrast to vegetarian spring rolls that I have eaten before the taste these items was also very neutral. Even a large amount of the (diluted) chili oil didn’t improve the taste. As a conclusion, I must agree to one of my friends who said that she doesn’t see any reason to visit that restaurant again. My both (Chinese) friends said that they were not so disappointed since they didn’t expect much from vegetarian Dim Sum. But my other friend and I strongly believed that a meal must taste well regardless whether it’s vegetarian or not. And we both had already eaten some great Chinese vegetarian meals. This restaurant is not recommended at all.1.5 out of 5"

"We visited this restaurant a couple of days ago due to the good reviews and we live in the neighborhood. The menu is very limited and there was no option for spice level. The food was just "so-so" .. nothing really interesting. With so many other great Indian restaurants in town ..we will definitely not be back."

"Had a groupon. Very nice ambience, with soft jazz in the background and water at the side to keep customers hydrated. Very friendly service; very helpful and efficient staff. I personally thought my latte was a great mix of caffeine and milk. Crepe was above average. I would have prefered my crepe a little more crispy but the quality was good and fresh and definitely satisfied my appetite."

"We should go to a food truck event, but landed here and it was such a pleasant surprise. The staff was wonderful and the food, oh my God. The food was great! I have eaten a vegan mushroom risotto for the longest time, but most places here do it with Heave Cream. I could ask it without cheese and it came with the perfect consistency, texture and taste. You have more than just a few vegan options and my husband had a delicious vegan pasta that he was very satisfied. Of course, they have other options, and our non- vegan friends were thrilled with the taste and dish portions. The place is beautiful and beautiful, and the prices are very good for service and experience as a whole. Definitely recommend going there, you will not regret it! And if you go, get the Risotto. I'll be back."

"The Kickass Rice dishes were delicious, as always! We weren't sure why they ran out of Crack so early in the day, but the Kale Salad was a delightful substitute."
