"Just before 11 a.m. on a Tuesday, restaurant was only half full, but they must have been underoccupied because the waiters were out of their feet. Even still we were brought cold water immediately without demand and the waiter returned within 10 minutes to take our order. You have a seperate vegan menu (on request) for both breakfast (available all day) and lunch (available from 11 am). We ordered the Vegan Burger and a Vegano sandwich on white bread (other options available). Food was brought out in about 20 minutes, the burger was delicious and the pumpkin was a nice supplement, but it fell apart after two bites. The sandwich was also good, but would have been better roasted. Friends were also very good. All in all, it is great that they have a dedicated vegan menu, but by reading through the ingredients, it is clear that they have only seen what they are currently in stock that is vegan and put them together to make some vegan meals, I.e. mushrooms, avocado, tomatoes and pumpkin function in a lot of dishes and there is no free milk cheese or mock meat well processed for those who try to avoid sitting. as a secondary note; the burger was served on a wooden board and while not normally a concern for me, it had a great crack in it, which gave me the ability to clean properly and in turn, it is the suitability for serving food. "Great restaurant with a beautiful setting and wonderful service. My husband took me here for my 30th birthday and we had the most incredible meal, mostly recommended by a fantastic and experienced member of staff, Anna. All I can say is, wow! A treat not to be missed, thank you so much for the experience I will definitely cherish it."

"Stayed last night and found it all a bit disorganised and chaotic. I emailed in advance to ask a couple of questions about hair dryer etc and nobody replied. We were travelling by train and arriving earlier than check in. My husband phoned to see if there was somewhere to leave our luggage. We was assured there was. Upon arrival we was told our room was ready and sent upstairs with a key. The room wasn't ready, but that's fine, we arrived early. We got up this morning to get our train and there was nobody around to leave the key with. The room was OK, pretty dated, but clean. The bathroom was a nightmare. The toilet didn't flush properly, the dial on the very slow shower was the opposite to what it said, so I got in a freezing shower. The staff were pleasant and the bar downstairs was lovely and had a nice warm atmosphere. Rooms: 3 Service: 1 Location: 2 Hotel highlights: Quiet"

"Francine’s was recommended by our host, and we were really excited to try it. It lived up to our expectations and they are indeed the best restaurant in Windermere. The food portions were big! "Great ambience-with a view of the vineyards. The owner should, however, buy up the Shell petrol station and tear it down, then it would be perfect. Perfect, decent, courteous service despite Corona measures. The food was excellent. We'll be back soon"
