"Wow!We turned up at 10:00 for a very last minute dinner and they were happy to accomodate!As soon as we walked in the smell was intoxicating and smelt very authentic.As a chef I can appreciated quality food and these guys sure delivered.Very hot naan, tasty biryani and smoky murgh makhani!Probably (actually definitely) the best Indian restaurant food I've had!My number 1 in Hobart!"

"Dinner here at Mother India on a Sunday night. Quiet with only a few diners, seemed a good glue through the takeaway, and why not?Entree was tandoori lamb cutlets, chicken Tikka, veg samosa. All very tasty and fresh. Servings more than adequate. Main was a chicken Madras shared between the 4 of us with rice and Nan. Uniformly agreed that this was probably the nicest Indian we had eaten in Hobart for quite some time. And we as a family are not scared of an Indian dinner. We found the shared entree and main plenty without the post feed bloat from excess. Very positive and keen to return."

"The welcome was a cursory, and we waited a while before our order was taken, then another while for the food... but then!!! Whammo! Taste sensation! Samoras, pakoras, onion bahjee, followed by THE BEST tandoori lamb chops and beef ghosht I have ever eaten! And big helpings! I still have two meals worth of the most delicious leftovers in containers in the fridge! Another place on the Soon to Revisit list!!!"
