"Food nice enough but too expensive. I pay for roll with egg and potato scone. I actually paid almost for rolls and coffee takeaway, I didn't ask price beforehand but I didn't think it was so expensive, particularly for no meat rolls as I don't eat meat. I was very shocked when the girl tell me the price! Next time I wanted hot rolls I went to cafe round the corner because the food is just as nice but not for roll. Menu always change too here, website not reliable because menu (and prices) always changing. I used to get food here more regular but not now. Too expensive for what you get. Other cafes nearby are better for food and prices."

"Great food and relaxed place <br/> this is one of my favorite places to eat in edinburgh, its simple movement has many options on the Meze menu that are suitable for veggies vegan as well as many options for omnis. I would highly recommend the full beans, the olive salad and the aubergine is unforgettable, quite everything I have tried is really well done, tastes great and served with a smile! until soon pomegranate!"

"Generally an outstanding experience. Sadly we were the only customers on a late November Friday lunchtime although we were reassured to hear that they were due to be busy later that day and over the weekend. We were seated at a table in the front section of the restaurant in the window. I can understand why but perhaps not the most comfortable area. The main seating area in the rear looks much nicer. Never mind. The food. The bread and home made butter was excellent quality. The starters were the low point of the meal....neither hit the mark. Had to have mushrooms removed from one starter an allergy and this was after reminding the waiting staff that we had informed them when booking. A pity. From that point on it was very positive. We had opted for the paired wines and they all proved to be good matches for the food. My highlight was a delicious cod dish featuring pan fried purple potatoes, no risk of style over substance here. Wonderful balance of flavours and textures, the lemon gel provided an interesting and worthwhile contrast I felt the meal was real value for money and they clearly have chefs in the kitchen who have a clear view of what they are trying to achieve."

"We looked up this place online and I checked that it was open, I even checked reservations which were all free. We decided to walk in and the place had about 10 people dining in. We waited about 5 minutes until a member of staff eventually showed up, only to tell us a private function was on, despite the restaurant being 90% empty. Poor service, but we ended up with a better meal down the road due to their lack of service here!"

"Food was pricey, £115 pp for the 7-course taster menu, but was amazing. I never thought pumpkin, cheese and risotto rice could taste so divine Staff were very attentive and made for a great evening I would definitely recommend"
