"Love this little place! Came here for the first time about five years ago when my husband and I visited KC for our second anniversary, so it holds a special place in my heart. Went back with my sister and it was very good! It’s been many years so the menu has changed, but it was still good. We just snacked and got the Brie, devilled eggs, and mussels and a bottle of sparkling for happy hour. Our server was very sweet, we got there about 5:50 and happy hour ended at six. No one came over to our table before 6pm (I almost got up and went to the bar myself). She finally came over right after it turned six. Asked for our drinks, and I inquired if we could still do the happy hour pricing on our drinks because no one came to our table for at least 10 minutes. She was hesitant at first but then said on our first round we could do happy hour pricing. It was very kind of her and I’ll remember that. It’s such a cozy, romantic atmosphere and they have a small patio as well. Definitely will come back next time I’m in KC!"

"Went for Italian but found they only had 3 Italian dishes on the menu, rest could best be considered upgraded bar food. Appetizers of cheese and salumi, cioppino, and calamari were very good. Entries were just ok. Sauce had good thickness though. They are changing menus and would go back to see what they offer"

"We had a great first visit to Julian, and are looking forward to trying Chef Tio 's other property, The Belfry. Julian closes July 4th, and we understand why. Seating space is at a premium, and parking can get tough. Chef Tio came out and spoke to nearly every table. She told us which dishes would be included on The Belfry menu (the smoked salmon deviled eggs for one! . We were very impressed by her style and her food. My husband and our friend had the Camp Lindo Farms Chicken, and I had the Chef 's Vegetarian special, which was a Southwest Corn Succatash over Basmati rice. It was fresh, light, and delicious! For dessert we tried the White Peach Upside-down Cake and the butterscotch bread pudding. Both were big hits. Having moved to the area in late 2014, we are sorry we didn 't discover Julian until now. But we have met Chef Tio and will most definitely follow her on her new adventure."

"This is hands down the best bar in KC. The natural wine list is incredible, the cocktails are all delicious, and the burger is the best in town. Also, the owners and staff are the kindest people you?ll ever meet. I can?t say enough positive things about this place! "Had Chefs Board which was great selection of cheese, meat, fruit and sauces. Sriracha Honey Fried Chicken Sammy was way too hot. Honey did not cool it down. Lips burned for quite awhile."

"Be sure to get there before 6 if you want to participate in happy hour. Not 6:01, but 6. As whiskey drinkers, we try to be aware of pricing on stuff when buying by the 1/2 ounce. So, a 1.5 ounce drink increased to a 2.0 ounce pour should be 1.33 times the price of the 1.5 ounce drink. Expect to pay more. Some bars charge a standard $2 rocks charge, for example. Not this place. Haven 't quite figured out their formula, if they have one. As a customer, if the waiter says I can substitute one vegetable for another, it would help if they also mentioned there would be a $5 upcharge. Total discrepancies were a little over $10. Not a huge deal, but it unnecessarily leaves a bad taste after an otherwise great dinner. Beet salad was absolutely one of the best salads I have ever had. Waitress was pleasant and helpful (other than previously mentioned). Steak, lox, salmon were all excellent. Surprised it wasn 't busier. Diners are missing out on a very (mostly) enjoyable experience."

"They were very good to accommodate our party however the service was slow and the food just wasn’t that good. My rice didn’t taste cooked all the way and my chicken was pretty tough. 2 family members got the steak and it had no flavor and was tough. My husband got the burger and out of 9 people he was really the only one that liked his food."
