"The restaurant staff are very friendly and will always try to give you a window seat overlooking the River Tummel spectacular when in spate! Their Fish and Chips are always excellent. If you have time a walk around Pitlochry is always worthwhile."

"Our group has come to the Royal on the water for many years, the last time in March. As we all know, a lot has happened in the hospitality industry since March. At the Royal, regular employees seem to have been replaced by very young, almost work experience people. In this way the administration was forced due to the Covid pandemic, but it certainly leads to an unusual lunch. The work that paid for what was laborious and confusing at the end of the meal. Not as pleasant an experience as in the past. Food quality also slipped a bit."

"Isn't it SO nice returning to your favourite restaurant and just feeling 'yes!' .... Red Cabbage has IT!!! From the moment we stepped inside - that 1st all important greeting etc - that's how it feels. Service, food, ambience are all there. Meals a delight - duck extra special as is fish. And our favourite cheese board to share a disappointment through no fault of theirs as suppliers ran out of the stand out cheese.. boohoo!! Thankyou yet again!!!"

"Met family members for a meal. Carpark was very busy but the restaurant was empty when we arrived and remained very quiet which was disappointing as it lacked atmosphere. Service was very good and food very tasty. Eating area and seated area in lounge could have been warmer. Only down side was the service charge which was automatically added to the bill and was 10%. Think it should be left to the individual as to how much to leave, especially in the current climate."

"Excellent eating, many vegan options and a bit different from the usual vegan chili! had vegan sticky toffe pudding- comes in the regular with ice, but they had run out of the vegan ice so made me a little obst kompott instead!"

"I went last Friday for breakfast with a friend. They have a breakfast opening special where coffee is only $1 with any breakfast purchase. We thought that this was fantastic!I couldn't decide between the Dirty Crumpets and bacon eggs. I decided to be daring and ordered the Dirty crumpets crumpets with toasted marshmellows, pistashio, butterscotch sauce, creme fresh and bananas. The plate looked sensational when it arrived and I liked the the sauce was in a little jug so that I was in control on this. However, I felt that the dish was a bit of a flop. I am a HUGE fan of Gusto's crumpets, and this sadly is no where near as good as Gusto's. I felt that the flavours weren't quite right.<br/ <br/ My friend had the open omlette and she said that it was fantastic. They happily catered for her GF needs."

"I go every week for eier for me and friends here. I also buy the most beautiful chutney, oat cake, parkin biscuits and the homemade tablet is absolutely delicious. it is a great wee shop and the owner is beautiful and very helpful. well recommended."
