"Very cool spot with eclectic furnitures in a old house. Perfect scenery for a good brunch...fair pricing.First, be sure to look at the Brunch menu before you go as it is not a traditional or reinvented brunch menu but a mix of lunch / breakfast meals. Lots of gravlax, mushrooms, goat cheeze, etc. And as it changes from time to time even doing so will not necessarily guarantee you to get something you like. For example, I had identified the English Breakfast as my goal but it was not offered today. And the few plates offering eggs for some reason could not see the eggs cooking done differently so a bit rigid here.Past the hurdle off figuring something to eat to your taste, then execution...the waffle I got was hard as a piece of wood, flooded into an impossible quantity of apple in an impossible amount of cinammon sauce...the cheddar was almost nowhere to be seen, deeply buried under the apples. And I was supposed to add maple syrup to that soup? Nothing could have saved that plate...i barely ate it.The French toast was also half burned. The eggs were served almost already cold...we all felt disapointed as we would have been glad to be able to add this place to our brunch places...but no. Not going back."

"This was the first Copper Branch I tried and it was good. Tried their Avocado Toast, Smoked Tempeh Sandwich and Americano Coffee and except for Avocado Toast, the other two were good. Not so much impressive but good enough. Avocado Toast It was great visually. However, too heavy on salt and oil. I loved the idea of a sub style bread toast as it would be more filling. Slicing and the arrangement of the avocado were done great and made it quite appealing (the best I have seen compared to other Copper Branches). Smoked Tempeh Sandwich: The sandwich was quite good. Although I would have loved a little thicker slice of tempeh (I've had a similar one in Key West and their smokiness and the proportion of tempeh against the sandwich was just perfect). Americano Coffee: Wasn't as dark as I expected it was more of a medium roast. But still a great cup. I went for a black one as I like it that way but they also have the option of soy milk/almond milk/coconut milk etc. I went there for breakfast early in the morning and the place was buzzing, considering they just opened a few minutes ago for the day. However, the service was quite quick. The gentleman at the counter was quite friendly and explained things well. A good option for vegan food if you are in downtown."

"Went to la grotte last night to have supper. Ordered a hamburger classic very well done and half a bottle of house wine. The burger was burned on the outside and raw inside. The sweet potato fries were charged $3 extra without the waitress even mentioning it. The house wine was charged the same price as a bottle of wine. I was charged for the crappy food $42 plus tax. When I mentioned that the food was not up to my expectation the only argument the stupid waitress gave was I will see take note of that for next time. Next time? Never again. Don't make my mistake and go spend your money on decent food elsewhere."
