"We moved from the area some 3 years ago….and happened to be driving thro' and decide to visit an old popular haunt. The cafe was very very busy…with very few empty places….that should have been a clue to not stay! We did get served very quickly we ordered the quiche……but then we were told they’d run out…..whilst we were working out what to have …the waitress returned saying they've got 2 bacon quiches! We couldn't believe what they presented us with. We were hungry and we chose to eat them rather than send them back….big mistake! They were individually made and the paste, 2cm thick!, looked as though it had been forced into a tartlet case with a fist with 50% of the paste outside the the mould. The savoury custard filling was about a 50 mls with a teaspoon of chopped bacon and a sweet brown filling which we couldn’t identify. We tasted it, it was very sweet!…. and decided to pay and leave. I would liked to have discussed this with a manager…but none appeared to be available and we were needing to get back on our journey. This café is still very popular and the crowds there were clearly enjoying themselves….it was very like the Bury Lane we remembered….but too busy!"
