"Jean Martin gracefully opened his restaurant for us when we asked to make a reservation. When we arrived, JM offered us a drink and started talking about him and the region. Despite our very bad French, we were able to communicate and learn about fish ponds, people who fish there and how they are managed. We discovered the Basque region and the borders with Spain. JM is very passionate and fully lives its life. His dog Boston has his name for a reason. Ask JM and he'll tell you. The food was great. We started with the soup of the region, then we followed the pork and roasted beef with oak wood fire with salad and fries. We were given wine, water and beer with our meal. To finish the meal, we received local cheese. It is an experience not to be missed if you are looking for a personal touch of a meal in the Pyrenees. Jean Martin graciously opened his restaurant when we asked to make a reservation. On arrival, JM offered us a drink and started talking about himself and the region. Despite our very poor French, we have been able to communicate and learn about fish ponds, people who fish them and how they are managed. We learned the Basque region and the borders with Spain. We started with dinner in the area then followed with the grilled oak wood of pork and cut beef meat with salad and fries. We were given wine, water and beer with our meal. To finish the meal, we received local cheese. It is an experience not to be missed if you are looking for the personal touch of a meal in the Pyrenees."
