"Always a favorite, this time Chef Vincenzo outdid himself with a perfectly, and I mean perfectly, prepared sole entry the checked all the boxes for a threestar fish entree. The lobster risotto was only the best risotto I've ever tasted and I've tasted many restaurant and homecooked all over the U.S. and Italy. Sadly, I've ordered my last Divino's vodka martini, my favorite per meal appetite enhancer. I've made this vow before but this time I'm sticking to it. What a disappointment. The drink came and I immediately pointed out the fairsized martini glass was barely half full. This is a martini, not a wine pour. The drink itself, what there was of it, risked the boundary of cold and not cold enough and the taste was adulterated with far too much vermouth. But the food was great"

"This place was utterly, utterly awful. They had one waiter and two busboys for a whole dining room. We were there while the waiter was trying to serve a and an After taking our order the waiter couldn't be bothered to return once to see how we were doingwhich is good for him since the food was horrible. They used cheap rice which they soaked for a long time to make it fullerit tasted like water. Speaking of water we had to ask several times to get some. The tahdig appetizer crispy rice with a meat stew on top was soggy and toughclearly very old. Bizarrely, the zereshk polo was overfull with zereshk which can be quite costly and usually restaurants chintz on them, so it was odd that they were so generous. The beef filet kebab was actually skirt steak and pretty tough. You CAN get better food and treatment if you grease the wait staff's palms. The next table got a fresh hot, Persian bread right out of the tandoorwhich is not on the menuand I saw the customer slip the waiter a tip: Quality treatment explained. We had to get up and get our own takeaway containers although, honestly, we aren't even sure why we took the leftovers but the neighbor has dogs who might like them. I am a person of Persian descent visiting the Bay Area. I was SO excited to try this place and SO SO disappointed and embarrassed that I dragged my friends there for an awful meal, horrible service, and apathetic staff. Save your self and bypass Shalizaar. Persian hospitality is legendary but you won't find it here"

"This restaurant is a no glory, mostly take out Jamaican style place. You have two options in sizes medium (which is pretty big) and large (which is really big) that you can fill any way you choose with the variety of proteins, grains, and veg that they have on the menu. They also offer a variety of Jamaican patties. We went with a large, which was way more than 2 people could finish and lasted for a second meal. We had the beef and chicken patties which were totally scrumptious. This was our first time having Jamaican food and it was so flavorful and delicious. On top of all that their proprietors were extremely kind and had good vibes. The music was playing Bob Marley tunes and there were inspirational quotes and pictures throughout. A really great cultural and culinary experience."
