"Located near the train station, this was perfect for the reception with my group of friends. the menu is diverse and there are large rooms around the bar, so it felt private enough to speak. I shared a grim plate that was generous and tasty. can be highly recommended."

"I love the Swanson Hotel. Although I live in the area in Erskineville, I have been going to the pub for the past year and I wished I would have come earlier. I come from time to time for dinner and my favourite food is the Duck Confit with pomegranate salad. It is fantastic. They always do specials during the week i.e. on Wednesdays the schnitzels are $10 each and are delicious and on Thursdays their pizzas are 2 for 1. It is great value. I organised a Christmas function in December in the room upstairs near the bar and again we had a fantastic service and they prepared for us a traditional meat pie (recipe from Quebec) and it was even better than the ones made in Quebec, Canada. The decor is beautiful and the pub was tastefully renovated while keeping the integrity of its original design. I highly recommend the Swanson Hotel. They also have fine dining upstairs in a beautifully decorated dining room."

"My mother was visiting Sydney and we were wandering down King st. when we decided to pop in to the Tram Stop Diner for a late lunch. We each got a coffee and roast potatoes and pie to share. Such a mistake!!! Gross is the only word I can think of. Cold pie, stale hard potatoes, cold coffee that had to be taken back twice before we gave up as it was still not even lukewarm. It's not hard to hire a barista in Sydney- and if you're not prepared to make fresh food, close immediately after lunch- don't serve food at 2pm if you are only going to serve the same food that's been sitting out since 12... King street has such amazing food the whole way along- you can skip the Tram Stop!"

"We came here for breakfast and ordered the mushroom burger and the chargrilled avocado. I really enjoyed that it was different from all those 'classic ' brunch places that serve the same food. I loved my mushroom burger, every bite was really tasteful and perfectly cooked. However, I would have preferred it served with something different than fries (a bit heavy for a 'breakfast ' . Coffee was great. Waiters were nice. Decoration made the place cozy. I will come back for sure!"

"On Thursday evening there was a group of 10 friends to taste their good night. Enjoy a delicious delicate lamb roast with mint sauce and gravy as well as beautifully cooked vegetables. I think that meat changes in other nights. followed a sticky datum pudding, either with cream, ice or both. I have rounded my meal with a thin cappuccino, but also other coffee and tee are available. it is byo, and the total cost was $26. well rewarding and cheap. recommend a Thursday evening (only) Roast dinner."
