"We visited La Cantinetta during our trip to Gaiole in Chianti, had some beautiful wine on the terrace and also bought some wine and delicacy from the host of the enoteca, Riccardo, and enjoyed his knowledge in Italian wines and his Italian charm. We will definately be back some day. Highly recommended!"

"I am always divided when I review restaurants in the luxury category. it seems small to give a 3 star rating for a place that serves food that is very ambitious and delicious. but I appreciate it in addition to other restaurants in the same price range. in. my understanding is not a target, but a relative scale. a street food joint can be 5 stars, and a gourmet place can be 1. it is all relatiw to contest in this category. I came to lunch, on an improvised little trip. it wasn't quite clear that I went to a place connected to a 5-star hotel. no problem. the lunch menu is limited, but offers only about enough choice. the prices are about twice as high as they normally pay on medium-sized enterprises. antipasti (starter) seemed especially at overpriced at almost 20 euro. I had pasta with lamb sauce. pasta cooked for perfection, only barely on the right side from below. really nice. dish overall was underseasoned, and I noticed that other guests also needed to add salt. Smokey noten from the cheese were a beautiful and untraditional element, but something dominated the taste profile that was otherwise delicate and elegant. spectacular view from the terrace, really pretty. desserts were spoken with 13-14 euro per court, quite cheap relatiw. but 13 euro for a bowl of seasonal fruit? or 13 euro for something ice? I haven't seen her, so I can't say how they were beaten up to this price. I had a vin santo mousse. beautiful slang of what I would call semifreddo as mousse, but after 5 min on the plate they softened and became mousse-like. connected with cantucci (unnoticed in any sense, and I had much better), and dripping berry that made some tartness available. a rather inspiring dish, but in comparison to obstinate or ice cream it seemed the most interesting. now the wine list. it is very extensive, and it has numerous precious stones. but it also does not offer any options if they do not want to spend 50 euro on a bottle (which is the starting point, average is perhaps 70-80.) I had a bottle which seemed to be the better house wine. a chianti riserva at 38 euro. I occasionally enjoy better riserva at half price. very disappointing and not worth the price tag. nothing is wrong with it, but simply does not provide quality on parity with the price. on the other side I had an extraordinary vin santo (which is usually moderate) and an above average grappa. I also have a look at the tasting menus they offer for dinner, and they may be worth a better one. they probably see 100 euro per person with 3 glasses wein."

"I ate every meal in the restaurant on the premises when I stayed at Borgo Casa al Vento for three nights. Every single dish was fresh and flavorful and delicious. The inside was charming, but since the weather was so perfect, I ate outside on...the candlelit patio, which was lovely. Highly recommend!"

"Friends recommended this restaurant and happy they did. The food was outstanding, service was excellent (professional, friendly, fast), and the suggested wine (Piancornello Brunello) was wonderful. We shared several dishes and all were fantastic. Not the easiest to find but worth the drive. Highly recommend!!"

"We booked a tasting of wine and local products prior to our trip, via email. You can contact the Agroturismo for a list of available tastings with details. We had the best lunch tasting I could imagine. We were the only guests at that moment, had a cute table in the garden waiting for us when we arrived. Daniela, the owner and the tasting guide is a kind host, she speaks good English and will Share all the info about the wine and the area with you. We spent 2 hours there, trying wine, olive oil, Hams, cheese, honey, cookies and grappa. Every new wine and food product was accompanied by an interesting story about the Chianti secrets. We learned a lot of facts and the wine and food was delicious. At the end you can choose what you want to take with you home. It was super personal, Danielle puts her whole heart and a lot of time into the tastings. Totally recommend it"

"We took a tour of the Castello which included dinner in the Osteria. Our expectations were low. We were pleasantly proven wrong as it was a dinner to remember fondly. First, we met Michele, the host who works hard alongside all wait staff. He is handsome, charming, tells some funny stories and will accommodate whatever you request that he can. For us, it was a candle for desert as my companion celebrated a birthday. The wait staff for us included the beautiful, attentive and personable Grazia and Cristina. We never wanted for anything the entire evening with both Grazia, Cristina and Michele. And when we requested a change (like a selection of wine), they did so and upgraded our selection to an even better choice. Wow! The food is scrumptious and sufficient portion sizes. Far too many Italian restaurants give you American-styled portions that are too much. Here all portions are just right. And the quality of the ingredients is of superior level as is the cooking and presentation. All were Wow! The wines are good and all originate from their owners oldest family-operating vineyard in Italy. Value is on par with the level of quality for service, food, wine as well as ambiance. Would I return to dine here? Yes, of course. Would I recommend the restaurant to others? Yes, of course. Many, many thanks Michele, Grazia and Cristina. And many more thanks to Franco Sangiacomo, the Director, who visited our table, spoke with us and charmed us too. Under his leadership and Michele 's management, this could become the best place to dine in Tuscany."
