"Normally one has to venture out of Zürich to receive decent service and food but this place offers it. Genuine hospitality and fresh food. It is a nicely decorated restaurant with wood panelling, an old green tiled oven in the corner, a service counter and...wooden chairs with white clothed tables with plenty of floral decoration. We stopped by last Sunday for my mother-in-law's lunch. We were a group of adults, children and a baby. The service was warm and the servers interacted well with the adults as well as with the kids. They were pretty busy so getting the server's attention was slightly difficult but we were not put off by it. For our meal diners had the daily menu which was a Riesling soup, pork medallions in a cream sauce with noodles and vegetables and a parfait dessert, had a schnitzel with fries and salad, had a trio of flavoured goats cheeses and I had the lamb chops with asparagus, a seasonal special. The kids had schnitzel and fries. All the dishes were well cooked, fresh and well seasoned. The lamb was ever so slightly cold so perhaps it sat around for the rest of the dishes to be completed before serving. I do understand that meat should be rested after cooking but not to the point that it becomes cold. The presentation was a bit of a mess, the plate was too small for the amount of food and it looked bulky with different components squeezed in. The goats cheese trio was delicious and well presented. The most delicious were the schnitzels, very well seasoned, crispy, juicy and thick enough for you to realize you are eating meat. Often schnitzels are battered so thin that all you taste is the bread crumbed coating but not these, they were really lovely. The fries are delicious too, probably having used flavour enhancer aromat to season them. Desserts were fine. This is a place that my family enjoys so we will definitely return."
