"This place has gone downhill very quickly which is obvious as there was hardly anyone there. The food choices here are a platter for 2 or 5. That’s it, no other food on offer even though it’s advertised as a “restaurant”. We ordered the platter for 2 and a bottle of wine to sit on the picnic area. They gave us the wine and told us they would bring the “platter” out to us. 45 minutes later we still didn’t have the platter and had to go in and ask for it again. The platter consisted of a block of Brie, 4 slices of dry meat, a slice of terrine and around 30 slices of dry cheap bread. $80. When I told the waitress it would have been nice to have the platter at the same time as the wine she literally threw the 2 side plates on our picnic blanket and told us not to come back as she was run off her feet. This is a Sunday long weekend in the swan valley and they had 2 staff on. The other staff member was doing his first shift on wine tasting and didn’t know anything about wine. He’s obviously had very little training. These guys need to look at the success of their sister winery at oakover which is full of very helpful staff who know everything about wine and customer service which is why they are packed full every weekend."

"I love this place! We have visited on numerous occasions for family birthdays, Mother's Day and Sunday lunches. The setting is gorgeous and the platters are fantastic. Denise the chef is constantly changing the menu and it is always great. We have never had the same platter twice. She has even whipped us up a birthday cake on the day at the last minute, although I would highly recommend that you pre-order one as she is so busy in the kitchen. Her cakes are so delicious . The staff here are wonderful, so attentive and friendly. We will be back."

"I love the vibe at wineries and breweries in the Margaret River area. They’re often geared towards families and I’d always hoped that the Swan Valley would follow suit with some quality family friendly venues, closer to home. Last year my prayers were answered with the fab Mandoon Estate. I’ve been hearing good things about the Oakover Winery’s transformation into kid friendly Oakover Grounds and so we headed there for lunch to check it out."
