"My husband and I ate at Au Cabanon during our two week stay in the Tarn region of France. We knew the restaurant came highly recommended so we booked for a special evening as our parents babysat our three children. Wow, what a surprise we...were in for! Having not done a great deal of research about the place, we were delighted that this season’s theme was in-fact Japanese (with a French twist). The owners, husband and wife, are both French but each season they change the theme of the menu and have the same dishes on it throughout that season. Firstly, the location of the restaurant is stunning. Puycelci, an ancient fortified town, is situation on top of a vast hill with the most amazing views. You can see rolls of unspoilt, beautiful French countryside from where you dine. We also watched the sunset from here which was magical. Please note all seating is outside and they have around thirty covers. Booking is a must. Our three course menu was around 25 euros which we thought represented exceptional value. There are between three and five options for each course. I had tempura garden vegetables followed by the vegetarian dish, which was lentil croquettes. These were amazing; my husband opted for goats cheese which was surprisingly served in a cold, melon soup! It was delicious! Everything was seasoned with traditional Japanese tastes such as ginger and teriyaki. The chef will bring out your food and his wife speaks perfect English and was an exceptional host, polite and not intrusive. What a lovely way to end a fabulous holiday in this region. We would absolutely recommend a visit here for lunch or dinner. They also have a children’s menu."

"Sunday 25.06.2017. arrived by chance, but without regret, ordered two different salads, small model, and enough for one in case, everything is fresh and no critique on the dishes. Nice contact. only flat, the staff not very concerned by the customers.But good what counts is food, the red wine warmed, but glaze a profusion.In summary I give the note 8/10"

"We spent two nights in Puycelci as part of a walking holiday and were booked into the Roc cafe by our holiday company as part of our package. We were seated on the terrace on both nights and on the first were given a set...menu comprising a very large and interesting selection of pates and terrines, including two vegetarian ones. This was followed with duck confit, cheese and sorbets we declined the offer of a fruit tart as dessert as our capacity by then was limited). We were given an aperitif, a very nice bottle of Gaillac wine and an extra glass on request. The following night we were again seated on the terrace and given a choice from the menu. We were able to try some different wines as well. At all times the staff were very friendly and willing. There are no pretensions with the food. This is a cafe serving local staples with charm and efficiency. They also have some interesting artisanal beers, some brewed about 200 metres from the cafe. There are few options in Puycelci with some of the competition only opening on occasional nights."
