"Since we were staying in Schwangau, we looked for restaurants and found this one. Turns out the food was wonderful, and we loved the outdoor dining area. Had a pork shank that was probably the best I’ve ever had and the price was more than...reasonable. We liked it so much we went back there 2 nights later. Although it was pouring rain, they had part of the outside seating under covers, so we sat outside again. The food was still outstanding."

"Fantastic weekend in the Allgäu. Super nice staff, modern rooms that still convey a “alpine feeling” and incredibly delicious food. Bicycles can be rented free, spa and wellness are also available. Always happy!"

"We stayed for 7 days at the hotel. It was quite an experience. The place is large but relatively basic by European hotel standards.It is more like a bed and breakfast place that you find in the UK. We had rooWe stayed for 7 days...at the hotel. It was quite an experience. The place is large but relatively basic by European hotel standards. It is more like a bed and breakfast place that you find in the UK. We had rooms which are furnished in what can only be described as eclectic manner. We had an awful pastel mural covering one wall of the local scenery and fake Greek plinths as a TV stand. The rooms have separate WC and bathroom that has a shower and no bath. We did have spectacular view of the mountains and castles especially at night when one is lit up. The breakfasts were superb but the main meals tended to be very similar. The vegetarian food was not good and the meat eaters said that theirs was not much better. There is a much better eating venue across the road at a local tavern. The hotel does offer free use of bikes which is excellent for touring local sites. One aspect that disappointed me slightly was that from the brochure it appears that this place is located in the countryside. It is not. It is in the middle of village which must be said is charming. ms which are furnished in what can oly be described as ecletic"

"We stayed here at 2 (Mädls) for a short time on holiday and were very welcome in the pizzeria at Giovanni and his dear team with locals and served well. It is recommended to eat pasta here and even Augustian service is definitely friendly and very open minded. The store was noticed because he was great every night! A great grace to Giovanni, Mario, Quido, Davis and Vito who have definitely made our vacation a special one. We'll be back!"

"We went to this restaurant in April, when all of the hiking trails were still snowed over and there wasn't much to do. The restaurant and area had great views. It was everything you would expect out of a mountaintop hunting lodge restaurant. German food...and views. The waiter prepared some of meal himself. We saw him pull out the fresh vegetables and cut them up himself for the salad. Food was good. They had a couple of German hats laying around, which made for fun pictures. WARNING: If you are susceptible to altitude sickness, do not drink a beer! I love drinking a German beer with my lunch, but got nauseated for a couple of minutes when the alcohol was kicking in. The altitude is not all that high, but I found that the combination of altitude and alcohol not a good mix. : I believe was cash only."

"Beautiful new extended mountain hut, however, the service leaves to wishes. We waited from arrival to receive our drinks a total of 40min. The waiters were not really warm, but rather resch, arrogant and annoyed, probably because the cottage was very well visited. In addition, I find it an inconsistency in the Alps for a 3€ 0.3L mountain swell water."
