"We had a great lunch at the Farmer's Family Diner. Local meat, home made bread and a great selection. I had the hot hamburger with fries, my boyfriend had the whistle dog and poutine and the kids had hamburger and fries. The hot hamburger was amazing, fresh local beef was amazing and the gravy was delicious. Great place for the family and an excellent stop on your way to or from Oaklawn Farm Zoo. The food was a big hit for the entire family. Everytime we visit the zoo we are sure to stop in for some home away from home cooking. The owners/workers are beyond nice and make you feel almost like family."

"My family of four have dined at Farmer's on multiple occassions while visiting the Annapolis Valley because the name says it all...FAMILY restaurant. If you're on the look out for HUGE portions, amazing prices, quality offerings and friendly service without the feeling that your parenting...skills are being critiqued every second of your meal by other diners, then this is the spot for your family. Conveniently located just down the road from Oaklawn Farm Zoo it makes a perfect spot for lunch either before or after a visit to the Zoo. Did I mention the portions are HUGE? The photos I've posted should speak volumes as to the value for your money with this little country road side restaurant. Highly recommended are the cheeseburger platter (the burger is gigantic and a home made patty as well as the fish chips and also the massive clubhouse sandwich. When I say massive, I mean massive. The family owned restaurant really does go out of the way to make you feel like part of their family a nice addition is a changing table in the washroom. On one of our two visits they even offered my son some peanut butter to go on the roll he had and brought out a big jar of it that wasn't even opened yet. We dug in with our clean knives and he was one happy little camper : Even if you aren't paying a visit to the zoo, drop by while on a Sunday drive in the autumn while you're in the area picking out a pumpkin or stopping at nearby vegetable stands. Your full belly will thank you."
