"Booked a table for a late lunch. First impressions very good. There is a large car park and the pub is nicely decorated consisting of several different rooms some with very large tables suitable for larger groups/families. Outside is some sort of pond with seating and it is very peaceful and pretty. I imagine it’s lovely in summer. On a slightly negative note, we ordered two lemonades which had no lemonade in them (I assume the syrup had run out). This was put right as soon as we could get the attention of a staff member but was a bit annoying. Secondly, the food took ages to arrive. I don’t have a problem waiting for freshly cooked food and it was quite busy. However, I would guess it took around 40 minutes. It would have been nice if staff could have explained when we ordered or updated us to give us some indication of the delay. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a deal breaker. My food was very very nice. I had the steak, ale and mushroom pie and it was filled to the top and the pastry was delicious. Very nicely presented too. The staff we encountered were very friendly and I would definitely return for a special occasion. Probably not the place if you want a quick bite, but time should be allowed to appreciate the location."
