"Beautiful country pub and entertainment in a picturesque village in rural Dorset. I had the beef, mushroom and apple cake with a seasonal vegetable side and roast potatoes. Everything was really well cooked and the portion size is quite impressive. Waiting for the food can be a bit long to busy times, but the quality of the food is more than doing this and does not depart from the overall experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming and were very understanding despite our late arrival (two accidents on the A35, not ideal!). Very recommended. PS. Ignore the bad reviews. There's nothing to complain about here. For those of you who have it, maybe another attempt. They won't be disappointed."

"Great pub where we always feel welcome. the service is great. beer is well kept. the food is freshly prepared and served with great care. the music evening attacks are always top notch and complement the feeling of the pub instead of exaggerating it. I am glad that I have found such a jewel for my natives"

"Wonderful meal at The Station Kitchen last Friday. We were met with a big friendly smile. The menu is fab I went for the mushroom burger which was absolutely amazing with all the 'off the rails ' accompaniments. The hand cut chips are fabulous. It was interesting to learn from our waitress the history of the beautiful carriage in which we dined. The decor is delightful both in the carriage and Station house. I look forward to returning soon."
