"From the second we walked in and were greeted with a friendly warm welcome we knew it was going to be great. Hosted throughout with humour and attentiveness but nothing over powering it was such a great relaxed environment. Advice a plenty on what to choose, the house cocktails were amazing and so addictive and the food be that the starters cooked in the kitchen, the mains that you cook yourself at the table or the absolutely ‘guilt free’ desserts this place is an absolute gem. Genuinely no criticism, it was top class and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, especially if you are out with a group of friends as it’s very social!"

"The roast was cold only one bowl of veg between 3 roasts. They forgot the children's meal, the meal was booked for 13.30 but was recorded in diary for 13. 00, I e-mailed them to inform them of the service and had no response therefore am writing a review. Terrible service"

"For those of you who may have read my reviews over the years, you'll know I don't do half-hearted reviews.. I say it as I see or find it.. Well, this venue may be classed as pubgrub type establishment, But from the moment we arrived, and throughout our time here, the staff were very polite, very engaging, and so importantly, very professional .. So if management read this review.. Your staff were a credit to your business... So.. Now for the culinary part of this visit/ review .. Superb cuisine. I can honestly say that this display of culinary delights would NOT look out place in a fine dining restaurant.. I would even go as far as suggesting that the chef could easily be part of a Michelin starred restaurant.. The presentation , the textures, the wonderful tastes that engage in the mouth, just made this dining experience, stand out from the crowd, in my opinion.. I told lady at time of our thoughts. So if you're reading this, again.. Well done, and thank you all.. And if we ever visit nearby again, 100% we will definitely return..."

"Ambience was extremely good, the menu was lovely except no Gluten Free bread to go with the pate. Our server was a lovely lady and she couldn't do enough for us. I was very pleasantly surprised as previous visitors had not been very happy. Thank you very much .....Olwen Bird."

"I took my Mother and my wife out for a lunch at the Village Inn as the reviews looked good .. We got there about 12.45 and apart from one other couple it was empty. we sat down and the barmaid took our drinks order and they arrived ok..At this point we ordered our meals .. After 1/2 an hour I needed another drink but the barmaid had gone outside for a ciggie break so I had to wait for her to return. Still no sign of the meals after 50 minutes so my wife asked the barmaid when they would arrive and she checked with the 'Chef ' who informed her they were ready. I had ordered a mixed grill .. The steak looked as if it was left over from the previous day and had been re-heated .. The 'grilled 'chicken ' was a piece of boiled rubber and the gammon looked like an afterthought ..chips were ok . My mother had Hunters Chicken .. This was another piece of boiled rubber wrapped in bacon .. The only saving grace was my Wife 's Fish and Chips, which were OK. When I went to pay bill the barmaid asked me if everything was Ok and that they welcome feedback .. Well here it is .. You 're welcome,"

"Excellent meal for a family group of 4 on a Saturday night. The menu has recently changed and the change is for the best. Highlights were the baked Camembert which came with plenty of fresh bread sticks. Sea bass main course came with 2 good fillets. Steak and red wine pie was also a highlight. Our waitress Liv was very attentive and knowledgeable about the new menu. She was a pleasure throughout our evening."

"For the type of pub you are going there for, it does a great job. The food is good value for what you get (and there is always a deal due to it being a hungry horse). The San Miguel is always fresh, but they could do with buying more glasses as drinking San Miguel from a different glass doesn't taste right. There is a sports bar over 18 section very small but out of the way. Then the rest of the pub is mainly for sitting down and eating. But drinking can be done in this section too, but this mainly at the front of the pub, as I would say towards the back of the pub is where you would go to come for a quiet meal, if that's what's your looking for. So for a cheap, family restaurant pub it hits the nail on the head. Just don't go there looking for just a drinkers pub or just a restaurant pub as its somewhere in between."
