"The small space has been optimally used with high rise chairs and tables. If you have any hip problems or are wheelchair bound this cafe isn’t suitable. The staff are friendly and attentive. What I experienced from the toasted sourdough ‘bacon’ aka seitan and cheddar cheese sandwich I’ve order, I was not a fan of the texture of the sandwich in my mouth as well as the taste unfortunately. The items are priced between moderate expensive. 100% vegan ."

"A very enjoyable evening indeed. Though I enjoy meat, I did not miss it at all. My tastebuds were knocked for a six by the fine cuisine served. From starter to dessert, the dishes were attractively presented, and tasted divine. Even though seconds of the main course was available, the portions served are satisfying, yet playfully leaves you wanting more of this goodness. Rounded off with a variety of cheese, crackers and fruit mebos..... Each explosion of flavor complimenting the other so well. Guests were an amalgamation of different Nationalities, but conversation and laughter flowed throughout the evening. Efficiency and perfection accompanied everything, from the ticketing to the directions, introducing the various courses and explaining the preparation of the meals, everything so meticulous, creating a relaxed ambience where everyone felt right at home. A night with a difference, where one is, 'served by the stars ' Well done to Karen Patrick......Wishing you a Full House with each event."

"What an amazing find! After seeing all the raving reviews, we went in with high expectations—and The Avenue DID NOT disappoint. The service is top-tier, the atmosphere is inviting, the menu is brilliant, and the food—OMG THE FOOD—is some of the best in Cape Town: Large portions, great flavour, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Kingklip and Calamari (and will be back to try the steak). Special thanks to Eric and the team for making our evening great."

"I took it on me to make sure I taste every cheesecake I can find anywhere I am. I can honestly say without doubt that this load has the best cheesecake I cost in 3 years. I can't begin to describe the experience I had eaten for the first time. I again ordered to make sure that it wasn't a lucky or a dud, and I'm glad it wasn't. the pricing is also worth for what they get. I hadn't all been arrogant yet, but I've been through the list since 2020. Once I'm done, I'll update my review with an evaluation of all the wonderful cheesecakes. keep them the great work. they are a light that burns brightly in the darkness of the tragicody that has become cheesecake."
