"Me and my girlfriend visited the pub over the bank holiday weekend, we wanted somewhere to watch the football. Having been in since 1pm, for both food and drinks, around 5.30pm we were asked if we could vacate the table of six we had been sitting at all afternoon, i explained to the barmaid that we would be happy to move to a smaller table to accomodate them as we were still watching the football, she advised that there were no spare tables available. A short while later the barman come over holding a small board, stood over the table and scribbled 'reserved ' on the sign and stuck it on the table, saying the table was reserved from 6pm it was about 5.40pm at the point) i explained that we were happy to move to another suitable table to continue watching the football, to which he pointed to a tall barrell with one stool, i said it wasnt suitable. I felt like they had forced us out of the pub, after spending our money in there all afternoon £6 a pint btw), we wont be returning and have already spread the word around Talacre to our friends and family. Great little pub, shame about their approach to paying customers."

"Everyone enjoyed their meal, which was plentiful. Menu was varied, something for all. Tables however need a thorough clean, not just a quick wipe of the tops, try cleaning the edges they are seriously filthy."

"This place is like Freddie Karno's Circus. It is chaotic. Firstly our ribs arrived looking like they had been microwaved. Tough, anemic and poor sauce. We sent them back and had them removed from the bill. The waitress apologized. My wife's teriyaki salmon was nice...and my burger would have been if the chips weren't stone cold. I sent them to be replaced and the waitress apologized again. We had to find another waitress to get more drinks as ours had disappeared for a while. We chose deserts. My wife's was fine but when I asked if the Chocolate fudge cake was hot and was told it was, it arrived cold.The waitress apologized again. I sent it back to come back lukewarm. I just eat it as every time it took ages to find the waitress who was permanently busy even thought it was Monday night and the restaurant wasn't full. I would have asked for a reduction has I not had a discounted voucher. It is no wonder pub chains like Brunning and Price thrive against amateurish competition like this. I won't be going again"
