"I don't understand this place. I don't understand the great reviews. No one in our household can imagine returning for any reason. This restaurant is like an alternate reality that has nothing in common with our real world. First of all I must mention that the service was fine. Our server was terrific and provided a perfect level of service that I haven't witnessed in a while during the 2021 times of under staffing. The menu was large and impressive. I had a difficult time choosing between multiple great contenders for my entree. But that's where the joy stopped. We asked for old fashioned cocktails. We left the choice of bourbon up to their bartender. Apparently no bourbon was used because some kind of peppermint liquor was substituted. It was gross and did not constitute an old fashioned. Our two appetizers arrived for our family of four. The portions were minuscule. The size was laughable. The ten or so garlic knots were each less than the size of a quarter, some a penny. The fried ravioli arrived and there were three little fried raviolis. Are we trapped in some elf village where everything is tiny sized? This theme continued on to our entrees. The manicotti and the gyro platter were small and did not contain any side other than the simple cheap salad that preceded them. Our kids meals were even more laughable. They came with nothing else, no side, no salad, no bread, nothing other than the main item. Your kid will receive chicken nuggets and only chicken nuggets. Cheese sticks as an entree and only cheese sticks. How strange. We paid $70 for two tiny adult entrees, two tiny kid meals, two tiny appetizers, and two cocktails. If they want to have European sized portions I'm ok with it, if they would give notice. However we paid American portion prices for European sized portions of food. I can't fathom ever returning. It's a one and done."

"Today, Sunday 9 Oct 2022. I asked for a 16 pc bocke, crispy, meal. $53+. They had me wait 40 mins for it. Came back 35 mins layer to pick it up. It was cold. I am not sure if this place is under new management, but judging by the last few visits, thecustomer service has gone down hill. Based on my last 3 visits to this KFC, I am not sure if I will risk making the trip toAnkeny for KFC in the future. Asking for exact change. Denying all dark, etc Not the KFC I remember. Is any one else beentreated with arrogance or shabi here? It might be just me, but today, after waiting for an order of 16 piece bucket meal for35 mins, the chicken was COLD! Or so it appeared Now its Monday 10. Oct 2022. The next day. I am sorry tonotice that what I believed to being Cold chicken I was given yesterday was not just cold but stail. They gave me a 16 piecebucket of day old chicken on the meal, for the full prize of a 16 bucket meal with hot, freshly fried chicken. In addition tothis grave insult: They did not give me butter not Honey or jelly for the 6 biscuits It is too bad there is no other KFC inthe area."

"Don't go to a flu vaccine. The women they give them are untrained and defensive. I never had a shot of how to be given here. The nurse kept it in her fist and haunted hard. I'm afraid I could have shoulder complications now, and if I do, I'll sue. Great job hyvee."

"Got sat down watch the waiter serving shots to a bunch of college kids at 7 am. Waited 5 minutes didn't even get a hello or coffee. Host acknowledged I wasn't getting taken care of asked for my order proceeded to hunt down the waiter that blew me off. I walked out cause if the service was this bad, I'm afraid to try the food. Which they have signs everywhere saying they cant serve hashbrowns other items. Sad, it's a cute diner, that is barely staying alive. Your apology speaks for your integrity. Thank you for apologizing. Was expecting to read anger instead you owned up it truly sounded sincere. I travel a lot so maybe I'll try again when I'm in the area. It really is a cute diner."
